Surely the shortlisting is due to start any day soon ? SJT are all done. Let’s hope if lucky enough assessment days are not far away. Good luck all

Completed the SJT today. A bit trickier than I thought. I also noticed that when you pressed the arrow key for the next question, sometimes a little red box would appear for a split second. I'm guessing this means you didn't select the correct answer.

It didn't always appears. If that's the case I definitely didn't get them all right. Not feeling confident at the moment. Gutted because it would be a dream to drive the new class 755.

Not looking forward to opening my inbox now ...

And as for your inbox, may be a while yet as some of us did the SJT what feels like weeks ago now and still no decision. Good luck!

Just another Q about diagrams following on from the comments above about swapping shifts. Is it really possible to do all lates if someone takes your earlies? That would suit me to a tee because of family reasons.

However, after my SJT performance today, that might be an academic Q. Good luck to all.

You would definitely be more likely to get all lates, as from what I’ve seen in all my jobs is that the vast majority of people want early jobs so you’d almost always be able to find someone to swap with.

Re the SJT, don’t beat yourself up, just await the reply and see what happens. Someone on here said they got an email from GA and they are currently speaking to drivers that have done the psychometric assessments and shortlisting those who haven’t.

As hard as it is, try not to think about it, carry on as normal and hopefully you will get a nice surprise in your inbox. (Goes for everyone)

Hello y’all

I can’t speak for GA and i’m certainly no expert on the subject, but i’ve currently gone through the entire process with another TOC.

I’m now at references and DBS check stage....having done stage 1 & 2 assessments, DMI and medical.

The best advice I can give you all is to be patient and you’ll hear from them soon. The process i’ve gone through started last October so it really is a long road especially given the amount of people that apply for each available job or place in a talent pool.

And i’m probably one of the lucky ones that it has ‘only’ taken 8 months.

I know the waiting game is difficult....but there appears to be no rhyme or reason as to how each individual TOC and the OPC structure the process (just my opinion) and you may just have to treat everything, including the wait, like a test.

Also (again just my opinion) trying to phone or email HR/OPC for an update may not be worth your while.....a lot of people on here say its hard to contact them...and when they do get through, feedback isn’t very forthcoming. Maybe consider it from their point of view....in that if they only received say a 100 emails/messages asking for an update each morning they arrive at work....how much of their already busy day would be taken up with just that one task. Just a thought.

Good luck to you all.

Out of interest how many references did your company require? Only ever worked for one company so only got one reference:| might try and get some character references just to add a little volume to it

Just did medical yesterday....so almost at references but not quite there yet. Previous places used to want 2 different ones. But i’ve used character referees before who know you but you don’t actually work for.

Yeah definitely.

Glad it helps, not much to update on at the moment though. Just trying to grind out the hours at the moment, almost halfway. Will probably update the thread at my next review.

Just an update; been about 6 weeks since my SJT test and 12 days since I got the email asking if I've completed any tests previously... in the meantime got an assessment for a Guard role at Waterloo whilst I wait to hear back from GA, seems like it'll be a while

I applied for Cambridge and Bishop's Stortford on Monday, got the e-mail with the SJT today and just completed it. For anyone interested my application score was 11.

Does anyone in the know have an idea when they are going to let people know about the next stage if they’re lucky?

still havnt heard anything since last email asking if I have done any of the tests before. I'm guessing no news is good news. Just to make myself feel better.

Does anyone know if we can choose the dates for the assessment or do they just give you a day to attend.

Also what area is the assessment likely to take place?

I’m not sure about choosing dates for assessments, but I was able to choose the date for my DMI.

I believe the assessments take place at Stratford Academy, address is:

Stratford
Solar House
Greater Anglia
Solar House
1-9 Romford Road
London
E15 4LJ

I am surprised the position is still up and available for new applications. I really hope it doesn't actually stay live until December, feels super unfair to those of us waiting to hear back.

Me too, I might have to take another job with a year minimum contract/ training which would ruin chance getting this job:(, surely can't take this long to pull 50 names out for Assessments :{

I wouldn't hold out just on this one job. Railway recruitment can take over a year from application to starting on a course. I was lucky, only took 9 months! You may find you'll pass on the assessments and interviews only to be placed in a pool. Best to keep your options open.

I have just spoken to GA regarding the role at Bishops Stortford and have been told there are no positions currently available. I’m assuming all chosen candidates have been picked and notified?

Hi all,

I appreciate there appears to be a long wait but anyone confirm what assessments are done following the online SJT? also are calculators allowed when doing the numeracy tests?

Well I am sure if they have contacted anyone, there will be someone on this forum who would have been contacted if successful as lots of people on here that have applied.
