Hull Trains is planning two additional trains to be extended from Hull to Beverley (one starting Beverley and the other ending at Beverley). Any thoughts?

In addition to the currently running extension of two Hull to King’s Cross services, with one service starting at Beverley in the morning and one service finishing at Beverley in the evening:- The proposed contract amendment will:  Allow a further two of the current Hull to London King’s Cross services to extend to Beverley, with one service to start at Beverley in the morning and one service to finish at Beverley in the evening.  These rights will extend existing quantum only slots of Service Group PF01.  These services will only apply on weekdays. The application is being made as the Train Operator seeks to operate a direct opportunity for passenger travel between Beverley and London King’s Cross with a direct return journey opportunity from London King’s Cross to Beverley. The Train Operator has identified demand and received support from the East Riding area, see attached letter in PDF, for a direct connection from Beverley to the capital as well as connections to other stations on the East Coast Main Line. Otherwise there are no changes to the existing service calling patterns. For further detail see train prints in PDF attached to this industry consultation email. The proposal will require amendment to table 2.1: Passenger Train Slots in Schedule 5. The same rolling stock as the Train Operator use currently that are route cleared between Hull and Beverley will be used.

Should be the 0823 from Hull to KX starting at Beverley and the 1548 from KX to Hull extending the Beverley. This unit returns to Hull as ECS for the last journey down to KX at 1912.

First thought is that they’d probably do best operating the service they advertise now on a reliable basis before trying to squeeze more mileage out of the fleet.

Although one issue is that the current down service to Beverley is part of the HST diagram and therefore terminates at Hull.

Approval has now been granted for Hull Trains' two new services:

Hull Trains will be running two further services to Cottingham and Beverley after approval was granted by the Office of Rail and Road.

In addition to the 06:00 service from Beverley and the 18:48 service from London King’s Cross, Hull Trains will now extend its journey to and from Beverley on the 08:23 service from Hull and the 15:48 service from London King’s Cross.

The application was made for additional services after the train operating company experienced high levels of demand for these services from passengers. After a lengthy consultation process with key stakeholders, the approval has been granted.

They are now due to commence on 20th May. They have already been uploaded to the timetable and are shown in online journey planners.

Presumably, in the immediate future, these new, and the existing, Beverley services will be unreliable in the event they have to use an HST.......unless and/or until the route availability restriction mentioned elsewhere on this board is relaxed.

Class802 is, further, do not go to Driffield and Bridlington?
The Bridlington and Hull the same State(East Riding of Yorkshire), isn't it?
English translation difficult.
That's OK. Other languages can be hard.

Yes, Bridlington and Hull are in East Riding of Yorkshire (a county, not a state).
I don't know whether class 802s are passed to go to Driffield or Bridlington yet; someone else may be able to help shortly.
