Wonder why there is a review of services for changes in july when more than usual the changes take place when schools return in August wouldn't think there would be 2 changes so close!

Stagecoach North Scotland have had 6 sets of changes so far this year, so it wouldn't surprise me!

Would not be surprised if changes do happen at the start of July - the Edinburgh Express network needs a capacity increase imminently, and would probably be best done before the Festival starts.

That's exactly the same as I have heard that express changes are being brought forward to help especially Edinburgh services with more capacity at peak time as people waiting at ferrytoll with bus comeing in full same comeing out of Edinburgh at peak as Edinburgh people using services home at teatime.

I can put my hands up and say yes I was wrong, The main changes will be in July, Money should be on 1st July the same day the school Holls start. Of course it's not nice when people don't listen and just wrote off something you write. I should know its happened to me twice already.... Maybe we should all take a nice breath and be happier with everyone else on the thread.

The Aberhill Drivers are saying they are getting more express work, but what entails who knows. Only reason for saying early July is for the simple reasons:

* I doubt even the management would be that draft to have service changes so close to each other.
* You want them done with a buffer to Edinburgh Festival, if placed on the 29th you won't even have a fully week for testing before the Fringe starts.
* 15th and 22nd fall with the Fair Fortnight.

If there are for early July there could start appearing tomorrow over the next week or so, But the big Q: will there be a consultation?

Looks doubt full that there is going to be a consultation for forthcoming express changes there definitely should be especially getting feed back from passengers using them on a daily/weekly basis should be a passenger right after all there the people putting most money into the service

Surely they would consult for feedback from passengers before registering with the TC? No point consulting if they have already registered their plans?

Totally agree with you but looks like going ahead with changes then sort of saying what do you think of that folks I am never convinced of any bus company makeing changes to plans saying we will have a consultation just a good PR exercise!

It is possible to do both. It's how stagecoach has been doing things for the past few changes. 35 days noticfication with the council and the other 35 with TC. Still 70 days but it means consultation can take place with minor changes going ahead. Again it depends on the date of the changes, and most of us assume it will be ealry July. If its late July then its all to play for.

They haven't registered anything as of yet. With the changes in July i wouldn't expect the service registrations to go through until the end of the month at the earliest.

This Summer service is back again, never thought it would be back. FYI why is the money on first week of school hols for the service changes? Because thats when the revised duty broads come in, Why cause alot of trouble just for 3 weeks work, then change again and then change again, seems like alot of work to have 3 duty broad changes in 6 weeks.

The school holiday running boards are prepared at the same time as the school day running boards.

My point was with the drives, not when the broads are made up - I take your point. Driver will probably want to know in advance if they going to get moved around.

Found out today the Aberhill extra express work is the X58 to Cupar and Dundee. X60 going via Chapel and Halbeath. X54 is definitely going low floor North of Glenrothes and replaced by a new Leven-Glenrothes-Cowdenbeath-Edinburgh service.

If I reading this correctly it will be as follows:

X24: No change
X26: Via A92?
X27: No change
X51: ???
X53: New Low floor route replacing Northern end of X54?
X54: Edinburgh - Halbeath - Cow - Glenrothes - Leven
X55: ??
X56: No change
X58: Edinburgh - Ferrytoll - Bay - Kirkcaldy - Leven - Cuper - Dundee
X59: No change
X60: Edinburgh - Ferrytoll - Halbeath - Chapel - Kirkcaldy

X54/56/59/60 will provide joint 15min service. The extra coaches will be used on X58 then with a few on X27.

Will the X60 still go to St Andrews, that a long way for a diversion for it? I take it extra peak runs will appear for teh Bay.

That is all very intresting if this all happens going via chapel kdy like glasgow bus good idea as 1 bus a hour after peak would cover the bay only direct to Edinburgh from st.Andrews 1 a hour and x26 would be quicker missing out cuper etc

X60 still via the coast to St Andrews. I think X58 alternating all day between Kirkcaldy and short runs to Dalgety Bay.

Interesting times ahead if this is true. The X58 will take an age to get to Dundee from Edinburgh!

And it will be the only through (Stagecoach) service.
