I’m sorry but that’s a dreadful way to respond to a perfectly normal question. @hexagon789 didn’t understand what you were talking about. It is usually customary to explain that and apologise for causing any confusion. But to say “that is your challenge” is disdainful and you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself. The forum expects better.then that is your challenge
To say that is your challenge , refers to researching the history, nothing dreadful, or need to apologise for nor disdainful. From what I've read elsewhere (Scot-Rail.co.uk) that on the Cathcart Circle routes there will still be a few 314 diagrams through until December. I think 53 services instead of the current 72
Apparently 12 services per day will be operated by class 385 units - for comparison I think there are currently 10, so not a big increase at all if the info I heard was correct. That leaves a bigger increase in services worked class 318/320 units as well. Seems like only minor changes on this line next week.
That assumes the info on Scot-Rail was correct.

Ayrshire will be 380
Inverclyde will be all 380 except 1x385 on Gourock, and either 1 x 318 or 320 on Wemyss Bay, with exception of 0555 Gourock 6 car 314 which splits to form 2 services back to Glasgow
Think they then couple back up to form Cathcarts etc
Paisley Canal i think is either 318/320 or 380
A question please
I have noticed on some 385s middle coach 2 there is a loud bang like a spring snapping on a drum for want of a better description. I assume it’s from the pantograph as it changes lines? Very dramatic. Is this common to all EMU s?
Usually raises heads of the passengers as it sounds like something has broken or fallen off!
314s staying around till December? If that's correct then that's brilliant. Time enough to go west and travel on them for the last time before they go.From what I've read elsewhere (Scot-Rail.co.uk) that on the Cathcart Circle routes there will still be a few 314 diagrams through until December. How many units are still to be delivered? This is the first week this year that there doesn't seem to be one on the way, unless tomorrow.
What times are you travelling?Serious question. Does anyone think E-G actually needs 8 car 385 service. I never struggle to get a seat at either fh or croy. Think on that line 8 car is embelishment for embelishment sake?

I think 7 cars would probably do for this year, but they're not exactly quiet for a good chunk of the day, and they're only going to get busier. Right we still don't have the faster journey times, we're coming out of years of disruption on the line (still ongoing at Queen Street), and population is growing rapidly. Add to that the people you might tempt on now they can get a seat rather than standing with their face in someone's armpit, and the investment in 8 coaches will be paying off in no timeSerious question. Hmm. Do other lines get that sort of redundency?? Cancellations are a fact of lines on lines and at least eg gets 4 tph. It just seems the scotrail only cares about one line that is over provided for.Until a train is cancelled and the next four car train is subsequently rammed. Today's railway should be increasing capacity not reducing it!

Its this in a nutshell. I also use fg to edin park a lot as well. Will see what new timetable brings but at this time i see no need for extra capacity on eg.I think this is one of those occasions where they are anticipating future demand and we should be thankful for it. Unless you meant that you felt they could use some of the units elsewhere? Which I can appreciate.

Perhaps if the units were all 3-car and the platforms could take 9-car, that would be match demand.
Hopefully once everything is in service and the new timetable bedded-in that will bring a better spread of capacity.
