X26 route won't change but I'm positive the timings will.
Yeh x26 would miss out passengers especially cuper going up A92 as it used to go hopefully times have been worked out to allow a lot of ground to be covered on some of these suggestions especially peak time

Shame, if the X26 could be more reliable if it went via A92. There has also been talk of a new Peak express X7? Maybe that is for the Bay passengers? It's also possible this could be all day Bay could still get plenty of people at times. I can see the X55 changing, Will the X51. I'm surprised there just don't cut short the X60 at Leven and have a new 96? Leven - fast - Anstruther - St Andrews

Cupar - halbeath section would still have X59 and X24 still plenty of choice

Personally I hope x26 does just go straight up A92 as the whole idea of express is to get there asap do we no what the deal with the x51 is as seems to be busy and unable to lift passengers going to Livingston especially in the morning from time to time seems the planning for the changes has taken a long time in the makeing

I would like to have seen the X54 between Dundee and Edinburgh retained - it provides an (extremely) cheap alternative to Citylink and the train, even though it takes considerably longer. I think Stagecoach have missed a trick here.

Maybe Stagecoach hasn't. It's megabus operations will be overhauled on Monday to provide a proper hourly service between Dundee and Edinburgh in 90mins.

How comes the madness: £13.00 single on the X54 Edinburgh to Dundee.... But wait £11.50 for Fife + dayrider, which means your quicker buying that and jumping on X26 and changing over at Halbeath.

Something doesn't add up. X58/X60 at times can come in Full at the Ferrytoll, Which means there already busy around the Bay/ Kirkcaldy, where can there cram in more passengers?

X60 three times per hour! 12 buses an hour from ferrytoll.
X61 twice per hour from Glenrothes to Edinburgh via Cowdenbeath. The Leven-Glenrothes bit will be stand alone during the day with extensions to/from Edinburgh at peak, i.e. the withdrawn X9 journeys. So off-peak, 3/hr from Glenrothes to Edinburgh, 7/hr from Halbeath. X61 (and X56) appears to be non-stop ferrytoll to orchard brae.

Is all this plans official or still just talking about it seems a big increase to put 12 buses a hour from ferrytoll and 7 a hour from halbeath some no doubt running late will be running together but certainly will solve capacity issues at peak time is x54 just running Glenrothes to dundee then?

Plans are not set in stone until they have been approved by the Traffic Commissioner, so anything said is subject to change.

Given the scale of these changes, I'd expect a public consultation to be held as well as an internal one.

X60 is only one per hour it combined with New X57 and revised X58 ( these 2 will cover Bay) to provide 3 per hour from Kirk - Edin. Yes there are the proper proposal which should be going out to the public next week

X54 North of Glenrothes only. Staff being consulted now I believe.

These plans are more widespread that was first talked about so surely a public consultation will have to be part of final plans as will affect a lot of people with route and timetable changes

It seems pretty likely we'll see a consultation soon.

They clearly want to attract annoyed ScotRail customers. It's no coincidence that Kinghorn, Burntisland, Aberdour (X57) and Markinch (X61) will gain peak time direct services to/from Edinburgh.

It definitely makes sense to go after disillusioned train passengers putting up with daily cancellations packed in like sardines etc so there is more passengers to be got biggest problem is Queensferry road in Edinburgh at peak both ways where they always loose time and stagecoach can't do anything about it and Edinburgh council got no idea how to solve the problem but definitely good thinking from there commercial department.

The other big reason might have something to do with all the people complaining about wanting more rail connections, Leven - Edinburgh. Kincardine - Alloa etc Also What about the passengers on the X9 from Beaufort Drive, Bet there wont be happy with the lost of peak service.

There still seems to be a demand for a service from Fife to South Gyle - at peak times; I'm surprised Stagecoach haven't looked into this further.

Maybe a discussion for another thread ... (hint: green and cream)

I'm surprised by this too, something going on along Corstorphine Road too, Haymarket would be a popular destination in the morning.

Is the driverless buses not to be used on a route to the gyle/edinburgh park?

Remember the X52 I think a few years back that went via Haymarket. Didn't last long

Both have been tried before, and never managed to be commercially viable, so would be a brave move to try again.

Apologies if it has already been mentioned, but any ideas when the service changes are taking place? Also, will all these X routes be Coaches or will there be some double decker buses on them too, I understand at the moment it is all Plaxton sort Coaches

I find Citylink quite dear . Less cheap tickets it seems on (concession pass holders taking up seats ?)and walk up tickets dear with no guarantee of seats , old outdated website too.
