Was shown my first one yesterday. Knew they were coming soon, believe for each purchase the app uses the barcode scanner to scan the barcode on the (new, 2019) staff card, and it authorises Priv rate travel. Should take away all that queuing at booking offices. Ticket produced was a PDF / E-ticket. One for keen eyed grippers to keep a watch on.

EDIT: See below, looks like this was a booking office ticket sent to the phone's payment app. Too good to be true it seems

Also of note, Virgin's ticket system allows them to send tickets purchased there and then on the day of travel to phones, thus meaning priv rate tickets could be issued as e-tickets if purchased via that method too.

Unrelated to ticket purchasing but as it's PRIV related... the news section of the RST website indicates Grand Central will be added to staff travel facilities later this year.

How do we get this app? Do you have a link?

Guessing that above explains what I was shown... Sounds like it is a booking office one sent to phone (ie to GPay or Apple Wallet) which is pretty pointless.
