Bread and circuses for the masses. It will eventually be replaced with the same again.

More or less what I said to my mate when he told me of this news. It will be replaced by something similar, probably a little more toned down

Any link from a English newspaper would give too much honor to this televisionprogram. Just Google the name Steve Dymond.

Everyone who appeared on the show did so at their own free will and knew what the score was regarding the show.
as maybe the case, but it's still a freakshow.

same with big brother, talent shows, love island etc etc, most entrants are basically narcissists who crave attention.

TV will be better without that shoyte.

The first part of the sentence is given, but the second part doesn't follow. Various former guests interviewed have spoken of the appalling pre and post show care. Then there's the goading and backstage riling. None of that is broadcast.

Cancelling the show won't make the people who were on it or the people who watched it disappear.

ITV has axed The Jeremy Kyle Show after 14 years following the death of a guest who took part in the programme.

I've never watched the show and now it looks like I never will. I can't say its going to make a massive difference to my life.

The worst person on the show was Kyle himself. On the few episodes I watched he set himself up as sole arbiter of right and wrong, happy to talk over people to stop them speaking, and acting like a hard man because he had his security guards on hand. Put simply he was a bully and very happy to manipulate real people's lives - sure they're at the bottom of the social ladder but they're still people. Worst of all is that lie detectors have been discredited for decades by this point yet it was treated as though it was a legitimate method to determine if someone was telling the truth.

It is not surprising that someone took their own life after "failing" a lie detector test but that it took until now for it to happen.
