Yesterday I caught my first London tram yesterday from Wimbledon to West Croydon around 13:50.

The tram I went on looked quite new (air-conditioned one it was). If I'm honest, I don't find these very comfortable for around 15 stops. It didn't help that it was a little warm inside too. I saw at least 1 tram (opening windows one) on route which I guess had a similar seating plan to the DLR stock.

The newer (Stadler) trams are 100% low floor which means most of the running gear is above floor level and has to be concealed under seats. This tends to make the interior layout a bit cramped. The older trams have a low floor area around the entrances and through the unpowered bogie in the middle but steps up to a high floor area over the power bogie at each end.

The old London trams were very fresh inside on account of their lack of doors, but at least the passengers got seats, unlike the poor driver!
