Not sure Steve Knight has got this quite right. He has a total of 22 B8RLE in here - there is not a double deck bus option with this chassis so presumably 12 of these will be B8L

Clearly just a simply typo, the content of the post seems fully accurate.

Looks like the rumour about no Gold couldbe true - the only batch that looks to potentially be Gold are the Oxfordshire ones for the S1/S2. Any route numbers I have put that aren't in green haven't been confirmed and are educated guesses from me (lots of them could only be the routes I've put down, and others of you have said routes for these. Others it would only be certain routes eg Witney S1/S2). If anyone can fill in any gaps that would be welcomed.

I'll try update this list/produce a similar one when more buses come/more details are known if people would find that useful? The NatEx coaches will probably be in service next, again if anyone can fill in any gaps that would be great.

What's most surprising about the buses coming for me is the lack of buses for Stagecoach MCSL, which is one of the more profitable divisions. Could there be an extension later for this operating company, or will they get a few cascades to replace Darts whilst keeping on going with what they have, which is a fairly modern fleet with Euro 6 conversions underway for quite a few MANs.

Looks like I was right on Witney!

Wonder what the Northampton ones are for? The X46/47 was Golded 5 years ago, new Gold kit on X4 but don’t know what else they might use 17 new deckers on? Kettering - Bedford?

only depot in west getting new 200s are Cheltenham Swindon will probably just keep with the old pointer darts

Most of those are now pretty knackered. I suspect that Swindon will get some older e200s like 11 plates?

That would be the 43/X43 Brecon to Abergavenny routes, I think.

I had forgotten that they had to have some Sheffield ones for the bus partnership.

As for London, if they know what they’re winning or retaining, they can’t really announce it. Perhaps in previous years, they have known!

In terms of "knackered" stock i'd more be looking at NScot who are in dire need of investment in 2 axle coaches. We've currently got around 60 coaches that are end of life or near end of life age. It's quite laughable to think NScot had more investment in coaches in 2005/6 alone that it has in the last decade!

Someone is going to be happy about Oxfordshire getting 21 new deckers ;) Knackered? I would happily take 56 plate darts over a versa... Swindon has it too good...

With the Megabus/Citylink operations, I take it 8 are for the 900 service? recent cuts could be offset with bigger coaches, while the other 8 would be for the saltire routes. Who owns the 62 plates? I take it there off to Ensign? I wonder if Stagecoach ES will take 1 to get rid of the last 59 plate in service.

How old are they and what sort of work are they used on?

Meanwhile Caithness will plod on with those 07 plate B12B's!... Wouldn't like to be sat on one on the X99 for 4 hours!

Did you notice that the list above had actual registrations marks of those vehicles already delivered?

Ohh yes... o_O. Ignore me then

It ranges from a pair of N reg B10Ms at Aviemore/Tain to 59 Plate Tri-axle Panthers, but the condition on the bulk of the pre-2009 coaches is equally appalling.

They shouldn't be sending stuff like this out on the road.

The bodged mirror on the Panther here is a common trait, almost distracting you from the peeled Bluebird logo.

You never know the 62 plate might head north ;)

The ones the locals are already whining about because of the grand staircase.

What 56 plate Darts??

West (mainly at Swindon but also Stroud) have a motley collection of 04/54/05/55 plates acquired from a range of OpCos that are well past their prime. Some are better - ironically former Aberdeen 34734 is one of the better whilst the ex Wales ones have been hammered. At least the ex NE ones have been retired.

The 06 plates that were new to West are a tad better but wasn’t anticipating those leaving yet.

I thought Swindon had some 56 plates, I must have merged the 06 and 55 plates ;) I would still take those darts over Versas.

That is poor but 2008/9 really isn’t end of life depending what work they’re being used on.

That said, it doesn’t get away from the need for Swindon to lose elderly Darts from 2004 and being replaced by something just a bit newer.

And indeed, they have equally had problems with Versas! Believe me, when you’ve spent an hour on a 2004 Dart from Cirencester to Swindon, you become an advocate for their replacement. Mind you, the 2009 ex Stockport e200s are not exactly great either!

I believe these are for the 25 (the ex Yorkshire Terrier cross-Sheffield route from Woodhouse to Bradway).

I know that everyone thinks the grass is greener but the "Yorkshire" share of the new vehicles seems relatively slim pickings IMHO - fourteen single deckers - that said, it's nice to see the dividend shared around lots of different bits of the country (not just the "new buses for Bristol, Leeds, Glasgow and ignore the rest" approach that a certain other operator may have...)

(Being dumb and scanning down the thread I saw surprised to see complaints about lack of investment around Newcastle when there was mention of Busways getting some... then I realised it was "Busway" - no plural - i.e. the formidable operation in Cambridgeshire - my error!)

Great news for those who need it (and annoying for those who don't need it)! I'm hoping it will be set up similarly to London's, as their format is very good with the LED sign in place of the Bus Stopping sign saying the stop on the top line and if the bus is stopping on the bottom line, but just a personal preference.
I hope the new buses for Hull will be in that percentage to get the audio/visual announcements feature. :)

The list on the Stagecoach website says B8L for the Enviro400 MMC XLB. As for the MCV Evora I saw one in the bus station at Newtown (Powys) not too long ago which was working Celtic Travel's X75 route. For the benefit of anyone who has never seen one: https://www.flickr.com/photos/je1791/31839953378/ (not my photo) but what is the PVR of the T4/T14?

As far as I know the Panoramas due for Cumbernauld are for the 900. They've already started debranding the B13s so must be expecting them shortly

They have included them in the past, probably to 'look good'
At the moment the only vehicles known to be on order/outstanding for London are 7 more E400 (11075-11081) due end of May.
Not yet ordered, Route 323 from January 2020 has just been re-awarded with New Electric S/deck -PVR 4. Very likely ADL/BYD E200EV, but not confirmed.
Stagecoach London have lost a number of routes recently and are due to lose a few more, so requirement for new vehicles down, but they could be awarded new contracts anytime, so that could change.

They also have i believe 3 e200mmc on order for new route 497 due to commence sometime in August.

God do we have to put up with another year of clapped out Versas at Dunfermline!!
Just because you’re not getting new buses doesn’t mean you won’t get cascades!

Don’t know if they’ll sell them early or, as Arriva did with their Optare Vectas, try to soldier on with the best examples and let the others be parts donors until the depreciation is spent.

Dunfermline ones had money spent on them last year, while the Glenrothes ones which are 60 plate have air con. At Last count there is 16 at Dunfermline and 8 at Glenrothes. I think a few have been cannibalised for parts, I can see this continuing for another year, but this batch is getting hammered.

As was the issue with Arriva’s Vectas, it’s the problem that you buy some vehicles and if they begin to prove difficult, what do you do?

Sell them and take a big one off hit on the balance sheet (as you’ll not get the money that they’re on the books for) or take the pain gradually?

Make do and hope for the best. The Versa come north 3 years ago from Wales, to replace newer 60 E200 stock, but it was part of a bigger 4 way swap so Fife also gain some 63 plate E300s. I think Fife is stuck with them until there all go up in Flames...

Remember them when new on the 151 from Brynmawr to Newport (though I think some Fife ones originated at Preston and were at Gloucester) - there again, don't Stagecoach have issues with the early MAN e300s?

The average age of the East Scotland fleet is 7 - I'm sure there are other divisions with a higher average fleet age than this, who are being prioritised for new vehicles.

There are also numerous LEZs and ULEZs coming into force within the next few years; divisions who operate services through these will also be prioritised I'd assume.

And Fife will be one of them effect by the numerous LEZs and ULEZs. I hopes 10 new 61 seater coaches appear next year. As i said I would happily take 56 plate dart over those Versas. :D

I guess the poster was suggesting more that the Fife will be affected by running into Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh but that is less of an impact than, for example, Stagecoach Yorkshire who will have two Sheffield depots that will be massively impacted by that Sheffield zone, as well as their depots running in.

Not to underplay the impact of things on Scotland East but it's not quite the issue as Stagecoach ops in Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle or even Cambridge.

Of course Newcastle was under invested because of the local council demands for "london style operations" With Cambridge what is the time scale? It could get away retrofitting and getting 25 new deckers in 2020 and some more in 2021? I believe Stagecoach order book could go up to 400 next year if need be, but overall I think Stagecoach has one eye on everything and probably does have a plan. Especially since we dont know what next years order will be. Heck Fife got 16 new deckers in April, so 2020/2021 order is already getting put in. Maybe we see Cambridge get 100 seater deckers?

If Fife get some second hand stock that fine with me.
