I feel a trip coming on :p

A few weeks ago I made good use of the ticket, including a journey already no longer possible. Good run out from Stoke to Stafford (101), hopping off at Parkside to change onto an Arriva local into town (8), last weekday operation of the 842 to Rugeley, zip over to Lichfield (825), Tamworth & back on the 765/X65, fast to Burton on the X12, dawdle over to Uttoxeter on the 403 and back to Stafford (841) before returning to Stoke (101).

Very good variety in operator and vehicles. The use of ‘The Knot’ ticket was generally met with surprise or ambivalence (by the sort of driver you could show a Tesco receipt to and they’d still wave you on). Two instances of the driver being reluctant to allow travel - I’d advise having the pdf leaflet pre-loaded on your phone to show drivers!

I wish Nottinghamshire County Council would introduce something like this. Great Multi operator tickets within the City of Nottingham with the Robin Hood Card, but nothing outside the city boundary. Such a pain when there are 2 main operators in the county with Trent Barton and Stagecoach but you need two separate day tickets. Even more annoying when on the main North South Route, Pronto, jointly operated by Trent Barton and Stagecoach will not accept any day tickets even their own. Bus journeys in Nottinghamshire can be very expensive when you have to buy more than one ticket.

It does seem odd that Stoke/Staffs (not generally accorded as being pro-bus) can get their act together but not Notts?

It is welcome to have another county with a multi operator ticket (take the inevitable point that wider areas would be nice or that every county should have one etc). With twirly passes, it's arguably less attractive now so credit where it's due. Which counties (excl. PTE areas) have got multi operator tickets?

Cornwall
Devon
Wiltshire
Hampshire (Solent only)
Gloucestershire (Cotswolds only)
Sussex, Kent, East Hants and Surrey (Discover)
Northumberland, Co Durham, T&W (Explorer)
Derbyshire
Oxford
Worcestershire
Surrey (Staines area Acorn)
West Berkshire

Any others that I've missed?

EDIT: there are the excellent Red Rover and Nth Wales tickets, and the SE Wales and West Wales tickets too

It is a shame, especially as they used to have the impressive Robin Hood Sunday Network and Day ticket which included a very large percentage of the county's bus routes (and the entirety of some cross-boundary routes).

Avon (well the former county of Avon) has the excellent Rider range.
Hertfordshire (covered by Interlink which isn't a PTE) has one which I think is called Explorer.
North Yorkshire suprisingly has two which covers only the Dales and Moors.

I'm sure Essex has its own Day Rover unless I'm imagining things.

The Intalink Explorer ticket is valid on Arriva throughout Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and small parts of other counties and also on some other operators outside Hertfordshire (inc Carousel). Available as a day and season ticket.

Yes, Essex Saver, £10 Day Ticket. Valid on all local bus services with a few minor exceptions (eg First Airport services )

There's also:

Greater Manchester (System One...about £7)
Merseyside (Solo...£4.50-ish)
West Yorkshire (WY Metro...~£6.50)

Then there's the Wayfarer ticket, which covers bus, train & tram travel in Greater Manchester, parts of Lancs & Cheshire, a good chunk of Derbyshire and into Leek in Staffs. That's about £13 quid off the top of my head.

Really should do an Essex one soon. Haven’t had a day out there in donkey’s years.

Stayed 5 nights in Colchester recently and made use of the Essex Saver on all 4 of the days there. Some great days out for £10 especially the day I travelled right out to the remote area around Bradwell on Sea. As I said in my earlier post I wish Notts County Council would support a similar ticket to enable me to have reasonably priced days out by bus in my home locality.

East Scotland have the 'One Ticket' what covers various zones (but oddly i do not think there is an all zones version),with both Bus Only & Bus & Train versions

Whilst Dundee also have their own more local version, the ABC

If I were you I'd take it up with your MP, as well as contacting those in County Hall in West Bridgeford that Nottinghamshire desperately needs a countywide multi-operator day ticket which would include all bus services in Nottinghamshire, including Pronto.

You'd also have to include that the counties of Derbyshire, Wiltshire, Devon, Avon and Stafforshire all have a countywide day ticket (Wayfarer, DayRover, Devon Day, AvonRider and The Knott), you'd also have to including links to the various councils websites which show their day ticket. You'd also need to state that it would also benefit tourists who visit the county.

Once Notts gets one, word will soon get around about it.

Even though it's a PTE ticket, the Greater Manchester Wayfarer has to be one of the best value tickets going[£14 adults now, i still think it's good value], the rail area is huge, rail boundary points Warrington-Earlestown-Northwich-Holmes Chapel-Macclesfield-Buxton-Grindleford-Glossop-Greenfield-Littleborough-Darwin-Chorley-Parbold-Orrell & Bryn[Not valid on direct trains Warrington-Wigan though], on buses as well as whole of the GM area, Peak area of Derbyshire, East Cheshire-Staffordshire[mostly Leek area]-parts of Lancashire, & on the whole of Metrolink

There also always was (still is?) the Derbyshire wayfarer-similar, but a bit more southerly, also for train&bus, incl to/fro Sheffield.
As there is for rangers and rovers on trains, such a complete list for bus-day-tickets for the UK?
Myself from Nederland and in the past often visited the UK, also for bus-interest.
Here in NL we once had in times fo that strippenkaart a national dayticket, but now its either operator or regional, with very good or acceptable offers. In Dutch they are listed on the site of rover.nl (publ. transpo users organisation), but not yet updated for 2019. Look for ''op reis'' ''dagkaarten''.
On the site of 9292.nl- national travelplanner for all means, there is also very hidden a listing.

Strictly speaking, many of these only cover a single operator, but that's OK because areas in the Netherlands can be covered by just one bus company. There is a particular need for multiple operator tickets in the UK because networks are so fragmented, yet they are still mostly undercut by single operator tickets so the multiple operator tickets are often not well advertised as the operators prefer to advertise their own exclusive tickets.

The Länder tickets in Germany could be considered exceptional examples of multiple operator tickets covering huge areas. The Verkehrsverbund often offer multiple operator tickets covering smaller areas.

First Kernow is about to pull out of the Ride Cornwall ticket, blaming the rail operators (mostly First...) for not making agreed price changes.

https://www.firstgroup.com/cornwall/news-and-service-updates/news/ride-cornwall
Ride Cornwall
Despite having agreed a new set of prices and conditions for Ride Cornwall with partner bus operators and GWR a considerable time ago, rail operators are still not able to implement these changes.

As a result, we have had to take the unwelcome decision to suspend our participation in Ride Cornwall until such time as the rail operators can implement these long planned changes.

We are therefore unable to sell or accept any Ride Cornwall tickets from 26th May 2019 until further notice.

We are hopeful that the implementation of the changes can be made by the rail operators as soon as possible, at which point we will be able to sell and accept Ride Cornwall tickets once again.
