Would Newtongrange and Eskbank count as closed when they're sort of relocated?

Rochester Old Station.

I'm not sure what the long terms plans are here. When Rochester New Station was being built, I was told that Old Station's platforms were to be retained to be used for stabling, but I don't think they actually are used for that purpose. While demolishing disused platforms is never going to be top of the priority list, if they do stay where they are they're going to become rather unsightly rather quickly.

New Station with its straight platforms and general lack of mould is a much more appealing place to take train, but Old Station with its short and curved platforms had more character and was better for replacement bus services. It was also nearer my house, so I'm a bit biased!

Coton just north of the new Bermuda Park station on the Nuneaton to Coventry line. Not sure if the platform is still there for Foleshill.

A bit of it is. Like Chilvers there's a small amount of platform left, this time on the down

Coundon road has a fair amount left

Shipley opposite platform 5. Ok the station is still open but that platform certainly hasn't been used for a long time

I noticed while watching this cabride posted on the Blackpool - Manchester Electrification thread that there are still remains of a platform at the site of Turton & Edgworth (between Bromley Cross and Entwistle, about 49 mins into the video)
A new Rochdale-Blackburn via Bolton cabride has been posted showing the completed electrification:
I've passed that way a few times and never noticed (probably too busy looking at the scenery)

It would be nice to have more pictures posted in this thread.

I mean, I know we can Google these stations and maybe find an image, but it won't necessarily be up to date. Surely most of us have smartphones and many of us will be passing through these places frequently...

Just a thought!

One of my favourite websites has all the photos!

Some are old photo's but also a lot of more recent ones.

One platform of the original Harlesden Station - not the current one between Willesden Junction and Euston - is still in existence. No passenger trains pass but a few freight trains do each day along the line the Midland Railway misnamed Dudding Hill Line. (The area of London it goes through is Dudden Hill)

Not a passenger station but Bicslade Wharf on the Severn and Wye can be found in the undergrowth.

Blake Hall, on the Epping - Ongar line. It was closed in 1982, and the platform was largely demolished shortly afterwards, to stop drivers stopping anyway and letting people on and off unofficially.

LU closed the line in 1994, and it's since passed into preservation.

The platform has recently been at least partially rebuilt, so Epping - Ongar Railway trains could stop there, but I don't think there's any plans for them to do so.

Blake Hall Station is owned by Roger Wright who also owns the rest of the EOR. It's his main residence. The heritage buses are also all stored there.

What was supposedly the last train from Carnforth mainline down platform was a return Scottish Grand tour to Edinburgh but I can't remember the date, although I was on it!
In September 1974 I was on the last Scottish Grand Tour to Kyle when it stopped at Tomatin and I remember walking the platform.

There’s a few between Stapleton Road and Patchway. I think Filton Junction is probably the most ‘complete’ now, though pretty sure that closed in the late 80s/early 90s.

Burton Point on the Mid-Wirral “Borderlands Line” from Bidston to Wrexham closed in 1955 but both platforms are still in situ, as is the station building which is now part of a garden centre.

Train services still pass through hourly in each direction. I remember riding this line in the 1990s and early 2000s on Class 101 units with a view out of the front. The platforms were less overgrown then than they are now.

Also, Aynho for Deddington between Oxford and Banbury is still extant as a private house. Perhaps an unusual closure given three village stations are still open on that line. I wonder whether the occupants get much sleep with two XC fast services, GWR stoppers and freight passing through regularly!

Slightly further north, Fenny Compton’s platforms are still extant north of Banbury.

Loads of former stations extant at the North end of the S&C.

The old Streethouse platforms between Wakefield & Pontefract on the opposite side of the level crossing from the current station.

Baildon platform 2 still exists since the line was singled.

Shipley’s original platform 1 opposite the current single track platform 5.

Skipton’s Ilkley line platforms on the Tilcon branch.

Remnants of Marsh Lane station on the viaduct east of Leeds.

Thackley station on the long lifted Shipley to Laisterdyke line.

Altcar Rifle Range - half a mile or so north of Hightown, on the Merseyrail 'Northern Line' to Southport. Barely visible from the train, easier to see from the public footpath that runs directly parallel to (and west of) the line.

Closed in 1921, according to Wikipedia, I remember my Grandfather talking about alighting there during training when conscripted for World War I.

I noticed that the old Chilvers Coton and Longford & Exhall Stations on the Nuneaton - Coventry line has platforms extant albeit heavily overgrown

Might be stretching the OP intent but Tollerton just north of York.
You can see a small amount of the remains of a platform from the lane , sidings lane, that runs parallel to the ECML there. IIRC it was for a narrow gauge line to Easingwold.

Smethwick West has been mentioned a couple of time. The edging stone have been taken away and the station building and foot bridge have been demolished. But the platform, the lampposts and the Exit sign are still there. The station closed sometime in the 1990s. It should have closed when Smethwick Galton Bridge (High Level) opened but apparently someone forgot to start the closure procedure so for a year or more one train had to stop there every Saturday with a member of the railway staff walking across the road to unlock the gates. At that time I think at about 100 yards from platform end to platform end it must have been the shortest distance btween two stations on the same line. (Photo taken in 2017 but no change since then)
