Not that day, but I did get 313035 last Saturday. Pity about 313059.
Had a couple of hours at ally pally today. Thirteen pairs noted:
64/37 54/41 35/45 36/23 29/32 57/34 33/38 47/49 51/52 25/58 56/22 61/48 31/42. Also 59 was at the South end of Hornsey depot

its only a hazy memory but it was definitely a white train with yellow bits parked behind the station at harringay on the depot side unless im imagining it and it was plain white

Probably as a result of the paint stripper GN use to remove graffiti on 313s, which destroy the vinyl and leave the body shell plain white in severe cases.

Now the new timetable has kicked in has there been any obvious changes to the diagrams? Would hope the 313s will be around a little longer

All the signals were moved in the NCL so I'd expect the 717s will be brought in quite rapidly now.

You’d have to expect so, especially as they are presumably all available for use - once they retrieve them from where they are all temporarily stored...

So presumably there will be a mass withdrawal of 313s. Holding some back for the inevitable issues with the new stock?

There's also the issue of the 313s being on some sort of short term lease as the long term one was up in Jan or thereabouts IIRC, which may not be cheap since the options were scant earlier this year given 717s weren't ready. That begs the question - who pays for leasing costs given GTR is on a management contract? Are they passing the cost of keeping 313s around longer onto the DfT?

Holding some back is usually difficult, because there’s rarely enough depot or siding space, and as said they won’t want to have excess leasing costs.

They aren't running 717s with fitters onboard now apparently, so they must be fairly confident of reliability now.

How many pairs of 313s are still running? Presumably if the new stock is working OK then plenty of 313s will be stood down and put in sidings at Hornsey, Hertford North and elsewhere whilst they await their fate

I believe there are 25 717 units of which 5 are in service on a weekday so perhaps 18 pairs of 313s running assuming a couple are spare?
The Monday to Friday timetable requires 21 trains. So five 717s and 16 pairs of 313s.

Hi there does anyone know the whereabouts of 313024? Is it in regular use or is it stood up somewhere? Any answers gratefully received.

I'm very surprised to be saying this but I saw some immaculate looking 313's when I was heading down the East Coast Main Line yesterday, they seem to have had a deep clean externally at Hornsey?

Near a bunch of sheds that aren't 66s.

Surely can't be expensive to lease the 313s a bit longer, it's not like there's a rush for other TOCs to hire them out. Might as well squeeze every penny out at a reasonable price.

313024 noted amongst the units towards the Hornsey station end of the depot.
