Anybody go Cinema on there own or always with someone?
I usually go with a couple of my friends - usually because I never get round to seeing what’s on until they suggest we go. I would have no problems going on my own though, although I’m not the most sociable person anyway so I don’t mind doing things on my own.

I went to the cinema on Thursday to watch Rocketman with my partner, we both really enjoyed it too.

I sometimes go on my own. I've never understood why it is specifically considered by some to be a social experience - what do you do when you get there? You sit down, shut up and watch the film. Perfectly fine on your own. Indeed a common evening activity if I go away with work.

I asked someone this , and he said that you go with someone and part of it is to discuss the film afterwards. When ever ive gone with someone , its like ' that was a good film ' then not much is said after . I dont watch a lot of films but it always amazes me with a lot of people that know the actors , the plot of many films in detail , even when they've watched hundreds . I struggle to remember anything ha

Yeah, nothing wrong with just being entertained. That is what it is all about.

No longer here
I saw Aladdin last night which was an average film made good by Will Smith. I’d never seen the original, which probably helped. No doubt it was a remake that never asked to be made, but taken on its own it was a good film even if it had to be carried by Smith.

I've seen Aladdin and really enjoyed it. There are negative reviews on imdb, but I personally love the film. I do know the original film.

Just saw Detective Pikachu earlier on today during my stay in Edinburgh. Prior to today, the last film I saw at the cinema was the second Fantastic Beasts film. I visit a cinema maybe twice a year perhaps, it all depends what’s showing really. This year has some big releases coming out so I’ll be visiting more often.

Anybody go Cinema on there own or always with someone?

Again, it depends what is showing. The last time I went with anyone was when the new Halloween movie came out last year. I expect I’ll be going with someone to see Aladdin and later on, The Lion King.

I don’t know the film, but I do remember there was an advert for Safeways at the beginning.

The last movie I saw was Lego Movie 2.

I used to go two or three times a month to the cinema (I had one of those CineWorld unlimited passes) but I think there’s a distinct lack of imagination from Hollywood these days with lots movies being remakes or sequels, I lost interest.

Cinema has also become incredibly expensive, the CineWorlds here charge almost (if not over) £10 a ticket! I can’t recall when I last visited them. Thankfully the Vue does them for about a fiver, though parking for it is considerably more expensive.

Just watched Dark Phoenix.

I've got 10 films left on my list for this year. It might get extended as I'm feeling out a few new releases.

With advancing years, I've experienced an increasing tendency to, when sitting down, drop off to sleep -- including when doing something which I enjoy and want to be awake for. This seems to apply above all, to the cinema; to the point that as of a few years ago, I've abandoned cinema-going -- it's simply ceased to be worth it. My last visit to the cinema was, a few years back, with relations, to see "Avatar": I found the film enthralling, but still nodded off a couple of times during it.

Re the discussion about the above -- whilst I've never, anyway, been an avid cinema-goer except for a spell late teens / early twenties: for a good many years I had a hang-up ("delayed adolescence", maybe) to the effect that it was shameful to "go places and do things" on one's own -- branded one as a sad "Billy-no-mates". This stopped me from seeing various desired films (and I've never "done" television, so films being shown on telly, has been little help); until I finally "grew up" re this matter, and came to the conclusion that it was a ridiculous thing to allow to govern one's doings.

I'm only 30 and I've fallen asleep in the cinema before ( and in the theatre as well!) so don't feel too bad about it

The last one was X-Men Dark Phoenix. I've had a Cineworld unlimited card since December. I've seen 53 films so far. Most were on my own, but for 7 I got an extra free ticket for my wife through Meerkat Movies.

I bought the ticket through Quidco, and got an extra month from a refer a friend, so I paid ~£210 for 13 months. For 60 visits, that works out at around about £1.60 per time.

The best was Aretha Franklin's Amazing Grace. The worst was Holmes & Watson.

The really damnable thing, is falling asleep while travelling by rail over a line new to one; from and along which, one is eager to see everything !

Like many of my generation, the cinema was one way of having a date. I believe the last time was when the girlfriend wanted to see Three Men and a Baby

I went Friday last week, again to the Odeon Luxe in Hull, this time to watch Toy Story 4.

I also saw Toy Story 4. I thought it as very good, though not the best of the Toy Story films.

I liked most of it, didn't have a particular favourite part. I just didn't think it was quite as good as the others.

That’s precisely how I’d say it was - I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t anything extraordinary.
I’ll see how Spider-Man Home Coming is when I see it on Tuesday - really making the most of Vue tickets for £6.
