Diverting? You mean revinyling, surely?

I suspect so.

Wonder when the interior refurbishment of the 172/2s and 172/3s is due to commence? That can't be far off, now that the 172/0s are slowly but surely entering service with all the WMR trimmings.
At least WMR are ahead of the game compared to some who have been operating longer than WMR and branding and re paint aint even near as done

Different styles of contract. They're getting the interior refurb done first, followed by the external rebrand. Seems to be the other way round with LNWR and WMR!

350/1s having interior done first before repaint. Corrosion correct. Quite similar I guess.

Thanks for the info. I was not specifically thinking of the LGBT flag but of the rainbow/spectrum generally. I can't remember which website I was looking at a few months ago when I looked this up but I remember that it excluded Indigo from the list. Checking Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spectral_color it says that Indigo is now often excluded giving 6 colours not seven.
Yes that's what I meant. Autocorrect was to blame

Top observations there Mark!

Do you know what the state of paint is at Alvechurch & Redditch? And also Four Oaks to Lichfield TV (inclusive)?

I have not seen anything about Alvechurch & Redditch? And also Four Oaks to Lichfield TV (inclusive)?. Having said that I haven't been to those stations for a while either

If the painters have got as far as Longbridge then I would expect Barnt Green, Alvechurch and Redditch to follow in that order. Not sure about Bromsgrove as it is a new station and I don't know if it will need a repaint.

Is Lichfield TV a WMR station? I would have thought it would be a LNR station.

Barnt Green has already been done. There seems to be no logical order in how they do them. Especially when you consider that both Aston and Witton are still LM Green, although Aston has new signs, Witton still untouched.

At present there are three lots of the "Paintbrush" brigade working on Kings Norton, Northfield and Longbridge

Probably LNR most likely as it would make the most sense considering tamworth another 2 level station is LNR branding both high and low and only XC trains serve high level

Do you think that they will repaint the lampposts on the platform at Smethwick West? LM never got round to it.
OK just joking! The station closed over 20 years ago but the lamps and Exit signs are still there.

A single-ended livery! They need to couple both units back to back to make that work. However, in fairness that is probably the best that they can do with that livery on the shortest train in the country.

Do you think it would be possible for them to make a system to couple the two together? Often gets very crowded on the shuttle these days!

Probably not, considering that the Class 139s were built in 2008 and that there were only two of the units ever built plus any prototype models.
Possible to build another one of these, more updated obviously in the 10 years since it was last created but simens managed to build a desiro years after they stopped making them so it cant be impossible to do it again

The stop marker at Stourbridge Town says '1 Car Stop' there is nowhere for a 2 car Pacer to stop.
Naturally with the platform extended a few feet
It is still long enough for a 153 though because thats the last type used on there, and thats better than that bouncing 139 at every 60 ft joint with GWR rail chairs! and network rail WILL not put and new rail down, one day the poor 139 will derail.

The 153 was slow loading and unloading, but so is the 139 with only one door, try it at peak times !
A little extension and pacer will fit fine and be alot better, more space for pushchairs, bikes and passingers.
