142011 and 142046 are my last required Northern 142s for Haulage, if folk can keep their eyes peeled it would be appreciated

142017/025/063/094 on the Saltburn - Darlington - Bishop Auckland circuit today. Missed the numbers of a couple of others. Also posted in the “trains you see working” thread (with a few other workings I noted)

Sadly too many still. There was one of the bench seat versions on the Whitby train the other day. Visitors looked rather shocked.

Us lot in the North East are still dominated by the bloody things! I think we are switching to 156s when they go - in my opinion a considerable upgrade from a wheezing, squealing Pacer!

There was a 158 doing a Newcastle-Whitby run yesterday! I was a little surprised - was expecting to see a 156.

I’m seeing more 156s

The afternoon Whitby train is booked for 158 I was told by one of the guards a couple of weeks ago. RTT has 14* showing. So much better.

142032 and 142096 on 09:15 Kirkby to Manchester Vic.

142015 and another ex NS 142 (Sorry didn't get the unit number) were on the 09:24 Southport to Leeds via Brighouse service today.

I am a little puzzled as it should be the same train (diagram) as the 18:23 Leeds to Wigan Wallgate via Brighouse. A single 150/1 turned up on this. Does anyone know if these are different diagrams since the timetable change in May, or if it is a simple case of the train being swapped over at some point during the day?

It is indeed however the return 1220 from Leeds was cancelled (RTT reckons due to late running however it arrived more or less on time?!) and restarted from Victoria which is presumably where the 150 was put on it.

142070 on 6:50 Selby to Leeds this morning. Guard was a bit miffed as he knew that he'd be turning people away by Garforth because you can't fit a normal 200+ commuter load on a two carriage 142.

I can confirm that it arrived at Brighouse on time at 11:32am where I alighted.

142049 (with 150105) on 12:41 Manchester Piccadilly to Chester via Altrincham. Another Class 142 combi was on the service following this, but I didn't get the unit numbers.
