Diamond's Redditch garage now advertise that they accept Contactless by showing the symbol on their blinds, along with an 'I'm New' sign on there for new vehicles. Oh, and I made both of those for them to use. ;)

I've seen >>>Please Board Bus In Front>>> and <<<Please Board Bus Behind<<< on stand by rail replacement buses in Liverpool.

That means the bus now needs wifi capability, the depot needs it and it needs to extend across the whole depot parking area just so somebody can say 'Happy Christmas' instead of just leaving the route description and destination that the passengers actually wants!

It means the system needs to be able to connect to WiFi. There's many electrical items manage that - anything new enough to have an updateable display should have had WiFi too. I'm not saying they do - just there's no good reason for them not to.

London's Buses have had all the ticket machines updating over WiFi since 2009. The garage WiFi area usually includes the bus wash area as buses will have to stop for a couple of minutes in there.

If you're arguing they shouldn't be changing displays, that's fair enough - I find many of them make it hard to tell what the route number is. But if you're going to do it, you shouldn't need someone scuttling around the depot in the middle of the night and possibly missing buses.

Have seen Merry Christmas messages on a number of North West operators. Transdev also have a brand for nearly every route (which the displays alternate between ie ‘Hotline’ and ‘Preston 152’
Also things like buy a day saver adverts.

Marshalls of Sutton on Trent’s not in service display includes a rotation advertising that they were finalists in the UK Bus Awards top independent category last year.

The hybrid they’ve got on loan also has a coloured green tag line on the not in service display that says ‘We’ve gone green!’.

They’ve also got Swimming Bus with a pictogram of a swimmer for the school swimming runs.

Then there’s this... which nobody will likely ever use again, as I was the only one who knew where it was on there! (Attachment is bus with ‘Bus Stop Maintenance’ on the display, with a pictogram of a bus next to a bus stop flag)

Saturday just gone, there was a Harlequin bus on the V3 service - the display could do no more than show 'trentbarton' and the driver was showing a 'victory' sign with his right hand hand and holding up three fingers on his left at the pick-up stops in Derby city centre! But once on board, Doris was quite au fait with the route.
