Can anybody help please. Am planning to travel to Gainsborough this Saturday, 15 June 2019. Are there any direct trains from Sheffield to Gainsborough CENTRAL? All the journey planners take me to Gainsborough LEA ROAD and then walk. However REALTIME TRAINS shows an hourly service from Sheffield to Gainsborough Central???????

I had a similar issue where I put in Gainsborough Central to Bletchley and it said there were no journeys on multiple sites, but I traced my own journey and there actually was one. Weird.

There is an hourly Sheffield to Gainsborough Central service serving all stations to Gainsborough Central by Northern.

The walk from Lea Road is not convenient IME.
amused to see fares info suggests Northern offer a discount Advance fare to Lea Road on the Lincoln trains thus potentially reducing the market for their new trains to Central...

The service only started in May so perhaps that's why some journey planners aren't showing it yet.
I hope it does well and attracts more people to travel to/from Gainsborough because Lea Road is one of the most inconveniently located stations in Britain!

There's currently a special offer on for a £10 return from the Gainsborough stations to Sheffield, or £6.30 to Worksop. It's a discount of around a quarter, and is available to several other stations on the route.
