Vehicles on Caerphilly local services tend to cycle through all the routes as the day goes on so it’s likely they will appear on more than just the A/B.

Local sources up there suggest that only Stockton will be getting buses. The people up there are usually pretty reliable, but they could be wrong.

That's what I'd heard too. And Stockton do need to get rid of the last ALX300s.

It's a shame Newcastle's single deck fleet isn't seeing new stuff, the MANs really are clapped out, especially the Kinetics but also the E300s. The E400s aren't too bad, a deep clean and new moquette would do, but I'd agree with @TheGrandWazoo that some TLC is needed.

I' ve only notice, this

12 Volvo B8L/ADL Enviro 400MMC XLB:
13901-13912 Fenstanton/Busway [Stagecoach East]

I hope it has real axle steering.

You say that however all the example built so far don't have rear wheel steering.

I'm surprised they don't have the same system as the coaches. I've driven a tri-axle Leyland with no power steering, I had arms like Popeye after that trip!

Most Tri-axle double deckers that have the main drive axle in the middle lack rear wheel steering. It is offered however.

Would rear-axle steering work at all with the Busway guide-wheels?
It's true that watching tri-axle buses negotiate the Jesus Lane corner will be interesting.

Those Thanet loop buses surprise me. Loads of other buses need replacing in east Kent. Does make sense now why all the existing enviro 200s are being painted into plain livery. Don’t know where there going though?

Also, ashford and Herne Bay really need to get rid of those alx400s but can’t see them going any time soon some from 2002 I think!

The Thanet Loop is one of the routes that generates revenue, so gets investment. Darts and Solos will be replaced by the resultant cascades.

According to this, unless it’s an additional order the 17 Enviro 400 MMCs noted for Stagecoach Midlands at Northampton are actually for Leamington for the Unibus service.

Sometimes the orders are initially noted down as for the 'main' depot of the region, in this case Northampton. If the buses are due in a few months then this seems about the time that the Midlands ones were hinted to arrive. I assume that the Enviro 400s currently on the service will then be moved around to see the worst of the Tridents withdrawn.

An option that I don't imagine Stagecoach will specify, given that a Lothian E400XLB successfully undertook route trials on the Busway before the order was placed.

Hull now has it's new fleet: https://www.stagecoachbus.com/promo...t=&utm_campaign=simplibus-hull-new-buses-emid

I wonder if the buses they are replacing will end up making their way to less fortunate depots such as Scunthorpe? I'd love to see some double-decker Enviro400s in Scunthorpe that aren't just on loan and are permanently allocated, as the current East Lancs Vyking double-deckers feel uncomfortable to travel on in comparison.

I'd also love to see the 04 reg darts replaced too.

They have included them in the past, probably to 'look good'
At the moment the only vehicles known to be on order/outstanding for London are 7 more E400 (11075-11081) due end of May.
Not yet ordered, Route 323 from January 2020 has just been re-awarded with New Electric S/deck -PVR 4. Very likely ADL/BYD E200EV, but not confirmed.
Stagecoach London have lost a number of routes recently and are due to lose a few more, so requirement for new vehicles down, but they could be awarded new contracts anytime, so that could change.

Yes definitely not confirmed! Yutong are still keen to break into the London market, and Stagecoach has had their E10 demonstrator on trial on route 323.

Makes sense, start out with depreciated vehicles and invest in new(er) ones if the service is a success. This is exactly how Megabus was established.

Spot on. Sadly however i suspect even now those Olympians would be more reliable than "elderly" B9R's.
