I didn’t do the TRFS as part of my conductor assessment although it was 18 months ago so maybe they’ve changed their tests. Wouldn’t hurt to contact HR because the advert clearly stated assessments on the 18th so you would have thought you would have heard one way or the other by now.
I was mistaken, I did the RAAT not the TRFS last year. Unless they changed the RAAT to the TRFS and old scores still stand.

Do you remember how long they said the results were valid for?

3 years if I remember rightly... But this is all speculation, it could be that my application just wasn't good enough to send straight to assessment and on a wait list in case someone doesn't book a place at Newton Abbot....

I’m certainly not an expert but do have experience of GWR assessment days. I will also be there on Tuesday and going by the information given so far I won’t be expecting to be interviewed on the day. The two tests will just be done in a classroom style environment one after the other with a short break in between.
Thanks for the further info

I’ve had the dreaded thanks but no thanks email today, can’t say I’m completely surprised as I found the TRFS test difficult. Good luck to those who progress to interview!

Sorry to hear that. What did the test consist of?

Basically a memory test. You get 10 minutes to memorise 4 decent sized paragraphs of the various operations of a fictional transport firm. You can make notes, but these are taken away at the end of the 10 mins. You then get 12 minutes to answer 30 multiple choice questions based on the information you have retained.

a mate of mine was successful on the last advert. It’s a mixture of days, late afternoon starts into late evening and nights. It doesn’t look to pretty on paper but he loves it.

Thank you. Those shifts are the same as I do now commuting outside rush hour is amazing.

I have an assessment on 04/03 at Newton Abbott.

ok thanks I’ve heard nothing so more than likely I haven’t made the grade this time but at least it saves me refreshing my emails every 5 minutes! Good luck
