We were assured that was the intended livery, but in the short term vinyl EMR initials will appear to cover existing names. I hope it looks better on trains than on the slide! I find the current livery one of the brightest on our tracks and the new a dull substitute.
Nothing can be duller than Stagecoach bland!

At least we get variety in our rail liveries. Not sure how it sells more tickets, makes them run on time, or makes them more comfortable but it provides employment for designers, vinyl manufacturers and carriage painters.

Abellio to ASLEF, RMT, TSSA and Unite with the EMT HR director also in attendance.

Presentation from said meeting is being circulated to staff by union reps. Having seen more of the branding, I actually like it. I might be in a minority there, I accept.

I'll decide properly in a month or three. Much as this view may be clouded by my view on Arriva and the TOC, I hated Northern livery when I first saw it but it has really grown on me.

I am very surprised they haven't just gone Abellio red and white like GA, though.

I think it does need to be seen in the flesh for a final assessment. Got to agree on the Northern brand, the refurbished units look excellent in it.

Same. A low res web drawing doesn't really give much away. See what it's like later on. Will they want to pollute the brand by applying it to things like departing 15x, who knows?

Indeed, who knows. Watch this space for rumour and speculation, purple 153 anyone?

I guess the 360s being uprated will be carried out by Siemens? Any idea where it will happen? I assume that they will be given a full internal refurbishment at the same time?

Class 180s is worrying, although this is Abellio and if it's anything like the Greater Anglia franchise, then the rolling stock parts of the bid would be almost fully driven by bid managers rather than operations.

21 Class 153s leaving in the first 6 months will leave a major hole in the regional fleet, surely? I didn't think that new DMUs would be in place in the West Midlands to cascade 170s in that timeframe.

Rumour is that 5 Scottish 170s and 9 Anglia 156s will make a dent in them.

Tbh iam surprised they didnt choose blue considering they have LNR in green, GA red and WMR yellow and then again Scots is blue so makes sense colour wise with purple EMR they have a rainbow fleet

I’m not sure exclusive use of colour is a concern of each franchise, based on the huge numbers of grey-white trains we have these days. If you were being pedantic, LNER should have used blue, not red!

Perhaps take with a pinch of salt, but this is doing the rounds

One word, ugh.

A dull, dark colour, probably the dreariest livery since all over BR blue. How disappointing.

Stagecoach's livery still looks good as did the late Midland Mainline one, but this doesn't.
