Starting short on DB 'Sparpreis Europa'

I've got tickets from Berlin to Bologna but might want to get on the train in Leipzig instead. Does anyone know if that's disallowed on Sparpreis tickets? I can't find anything on the DB website that says one way or the other.

There are no ticket gates in Germany so it is impossible to determine that someone is boarding/has boarded at the 'wrong' station. No one will care.

Thanks for replies. Sounds like I don't need to worry. We've not got seat reservations anyway.
