Remember, it’s a professional job. Attitudes count a hell of a lot and you might just need your colleagues when you hit that horse, derail, hit a tree etc. or simply if you want to swap shifts.

Hopefully they don’t get near a train, I think we would be safer without people like that Driving! There’s having a laugh ,then there is being stupid. Your Colleagues will be who you learn from and who will support you when you need it most. I guess you won’t want to be part of the union either cos you are so great! Many people want to be Train Drivers so do everyone a favour Sam and give them a chance as I’m sure they’ll appreciate it more than you!

Personally, I hope he has used his real name!
Not just managers that monitor the forums. There’ll be plenty of staff that don’t like the “attitude” reading too. Not the best start. Edited to say I agree.

Hi there tunde,

I’m so sorry to hear your news.
Unfortunately, your current Stage 1 results will replace your previous attempt. Furthermore, you’ll be unable to resist the Stage 1 assessments for 6 months with any company, so it will no doubt sadly affect your current pending application.

Six months will fly by though. Just pick yourself up and try again when you feel ready. :) (Just watch for the two-lives rule though)

Can I just say to those who are asking questions and advice. Remember everyone is competing with each other with regards to these job opportunities and there is obviously another sifting process happening which is why EMT have provided a video interview.
To those who are providing the answers to all the questions, it may be beneficial for your own sake to remember number one until you get the job.

Btw I don't mean the actual OPC assessments, in respect to not giving too much away as that is just to see how you individually do.
But I do suggest the other parts where you are with the TOC (group assessments/ video interview/ dmi) that you are cautious that you are in fact helping your competitors do better than yourself by giving away any answers.

Just my opinion.

Good luck to everyone sitting the video interviews, I see a few new threads have popped up!

I’m going to do a bit of prep and give it a go tomorrow (fingers crossed!).

Afternoon everyone, I took the tests on Tuesday afternoon and received my email today to say I passed ! I thought the glop test would have got me , so am really pleased. Having gone through the test paper for stage 2 , to the people who have sat it , would you say stage 2 is more difficult? My concern now shifts to the MMI interview. Well done to everyone that passed , hopefully get to speak to some of you when we get our dates for stage 2 .

Hello everyone. Firstly well done to everyone who passed stage 1.
Just joined and also have received confirmation of passing stage 1 with a video interview to complete. Didn't get to speak to many of you at stage 1 but hopefully will catch up at stage 2. Good to hear you passed tomsharp.
All the best to everyone in selection!!!

Hi all. Does anyone know if a video interview can be conducted through a normal laptop with a camera? Do I need any specialist software?

I’ve just done mine. I managed to fill the time for both questions, but I’m feeling so nervous now.

I am great at assessments but no so good with interviews. I hope I did enough.

20 seconds to prep once the question comes up. 90 seconds to answer afterwards (if I remember correctly)
