And I will state again what I have stated before on this forum.

As a member of TPE staff I have been demonstrated a different style of seat in our training centre in Huddersfield that i have been advised are supposed to be the seats that will eventually be fitted. You will notice that the first class seats are in an all over blue moquette the same as in standard. TPEs first class seats feature cream leather. Now the design of the 1st class seats I have been demonstrated still retain the moquette in the back panel but have the white leather on the headrests and the sides.

Now, if that had changed or if you know something internally that is different to that myself or any of my front line colleagues have been told then fair enough, and that wouldn't surprise me. But my information is company internal, not enthusiast guesstimating.

@BMIFlyer has higher internal connections than myself and may well be able to correct and confirm wether this is the case or not

Correct on the sample seats being for Nova 2 and 3. The seats pictured are the seats for Nova 1. They're different. No 'enthusiast guesstimating' here.

EDIT: for clarity

I'm confused...which sets are getting different seats, and are they actually different seats or just the same Fainsa seat with a different cover on it?

To clarify, just different fabric/leather design for the cover. Cl 802 doesn't have the leather bits on the Standard seats and the First Class are as pictured.

That being the case I stand corrected. It isn't however what I was told at The Hub and no offence, you may well know me, but I don't know who you are ;) So for now I will retain my reservations until it is confirmed officially from an internal source.

If these are indeed the official seats then from what I can see window gazing through the windows of the test trains I am not impressed. The moquette didn't appear to be very well fitted and the first class looks like a poor relation to both the 185 and sample seats. Don't think my union rep colleague was impressed with the train managers "office" although I personally was impressed with what I could see of the galley area and it's one of the reasons I am looking forward to the introduction of these trains, that and the much needed capacity increase and the 125mph running meaning no more hanging around at Longlands for a late running HST!

802202 running this evening from Heaton to Manchester Airport as 5Q54. Looks very nice inside, especially First Class with the plush seats. It is running in plain white livery though.

On the Rail web site in the article on 802 authorisation, it mentions the vehicles for 215 have arrived in the country from Japan.

Internal update from an all colleague email this morning says the first 802 will (probably) be delivered to TPE in "around a week's time" as per the contract with Hitachi.

And it looks bloody brilliant!

Looks are not everything.

Let's hope that the passengers like the interior and comfort of these "brilliant" looking sets, but don't be shocked if all is not too there liking!!

Driver's should have a good seat though.

It's been said before but they would have looked a lot better with plug fitting external doors.

802215 delivered complete from Kasadao, was moved to Merchant Park, and moved this morning to Doncaster (then I believe Heaton)

802216 has started to be delivered to Merchant Park today from Tees Port.

Do I infer from "as per the contract" that it is as scheduled (unlike the CAF stock)?

No more or less to their liking than the Mk5s or 397s - the seats and interior scheme are basically the same in all the new TPE units.

Indeed, I think the 397 and 80x are to have better window alignment than the Mk5.

I wonder how it will work out on any of the Nova trains!

Passengers quite happy on shorter distance/time commutes.

Passengers not so happy on longer distance/time leisure travel.

As we know from here, everyone has a different opinion.

Time will tell if all parties get there act together.

I can see these being very popular though having learnt the problems from the earlier operators.
