Hi guys
I've joined the Forum. I've got an interview on Wednesday 26 june with GNE at riverside Gatehead but I'm really worried about the math side of it as I'm Mild Dyslexia plus answering the question correctly. I've looked on the Forum for any help or answers. Can anyone help me as I'm panicking if i fail.

Just be yourself and relax it will just be a chat . Shift work , your ability to work alone and previous customer care experience. They may give you a scenario and ask you to solve it .

If your dyslexia is not a hindrance to doing the job, you should mention it. Employers these days are trying to be as inclusive as possible.

I would have thought you should mention it in any case. There is a lot more understanding of what is meant by conditions such as dyslexia, you may find that the person who is interviewing you knows someone who is dyslexic (10% apparently) so is aware of the implications. If they discuss it with you at the start of the interview, you will be able to talk with confidence while they are in 'learning' mode, which might ease you into the interview.

HR will love you because organisations often have targets to aim for - I was 'encouraged' to claim I had a health limitation which made very little impact on my job because they could tick a box. There might also be implications if you don't let them know from the start but they find out later.

I would be interested in what others thought of my response; although I have been on interview panels, they were rather straight jacketed so I wouldn't have been allowed to deviate from the questioning area I was allocated (although the Chairperson could).

Finally, good luck!
