Does anyone know what it means if you're in the talent pool as 'reserve', I assume it's a negative, the worst of those in the talent pool?!?
I emailed GWR to ask if I had made the October course because it was mentioned in my interview. They said I am on reserve also so probably not made the October course. I imagine it just means we're in the talent pool waiting to hear further

Absolutely but there must be a reason for the delay, because as you say it should be straightforward to update candidates expeditiously.
Maybe they are waiting on completing the interviews before identifying the pass mark?

But then... How have a lot of other people been offered talent pool positions, then swiftly moved off the talent pool within a span of 24-48 hours? That would indicate that the scoring is set, and people have had their results checked against the criteria. XD

Termy have you escalated it to anyone more senior in HR?

I have followed up twice, both times the response was "Your application is still active, we can't give any time frames". I'm not sure I can really get it escalated any, or whether that will help. XD

I am still waiting for my DMI feedback so I have emailed the HR director hopefully I will get a reply now. I can't believe they are taking so long to tell you at least I know the outcome.

To be honest I’m not sure but to me there must be something going on to cause such a delay in updating you of the outcome.

Yeah, I expected railway recruitment to be slow. But... The interviewers said within a week. Its now been over five weeks. That's... Definitely a little wrong.

Like Devon said I would make contact and explain you would appreciate contact from a HR Supervisor. You have to be careful not to rock the boat too much though. Very tough situation to be in...

My emails said the same and I thought it was weird. Emailed HR and was told it was just another term for Talent Pool and it's the exact same thing.

Good evening everyone.

Just a quick email I applied for Birmingham new street and snow hill for the trainee train driver. I've passed the swift test but now in a talent pool any idea how long the way could be or any advice.

Many thanks
Terry

Congrats! Waving willies is once you’re fished out of the pool, hopefully not long though!

Congratulations. What depot have you applied for? Did they mention any possible courses you could be on in your interview having passed the DMI

Thanks Scott
I've applied for Exeter St David's. The HR lady said the October course was now probably full but there was another one in November and February.

Is the second stage which has the computerised tests harder then the first stage?

I passed the first stage in may

The second stage I found easier (albeit a few years ago). However the computer tests are not generally something you can practice for like the stage one tests are. You need to be aware of what they will be like, but it tends to be a case of you can either do them or you can’t.

To the internal candidates in this feed and people who work within the railways, I live within easy access of Bristol, Reading or oxford. Do you think it’s worth me telling HR I am happy with either of these 3 or shall I stay with the first choice?!?!
