The box isn’t manned on Sunday mornings. But that will change when the new franchise people take over as they are going to run a full Sunday service.
Don’t know shift patterns.
You could sit there all shift with absolutely nothing to do!

This ain’t a dating site lol. Have fun ;)
there is enough talent in York in the summer !
But they did give us a quiet reminder that the rooms are booked as single occupancy and you are representing NR and to stay off certain websites ( basically tinder) Think the hotel staff watch this side of things for them.

Not sure my missus would approve of me using Tinder anyway lol. Just curious to see if any trainees were about in York. I'm going into a new role, so if any signallers wanted to meet up for a "soft drink" or had any questions!

You'll certainly make friends with the folks on your course. My group of 10 ate dinner together every night, carpooled in the mornings, helped each other with revision in the evenings, stayed behind after the end of the day to get time on the simulator. Good group of lads and we all stay in communication in a group chat to see how folks are getting on. Certainly helped me get through my course.

Has anyone noticed the cross keeper job disappearing before closing date and the style of careers page has changed?

I'm already a signaller, going into another role within the railway and will be at York from 1st July...thought if anyone has questions, I could share my limited wisdom lol

Hello, does any one know what shift pattern Woodhouse (Sheffield) work? Is the box open 24/7? Is it considered a busy box?

Many thanks

I wouldn’t get too hung up on the status and when/how it changes, it’s pretty meaningless to anyone except HR. Just sit tight until you get an invite.

Morning everyone

I've been reading through these pages since I started applying for signalling roles back in March and this whole thread has proved to be really useful, thank you.

Does anyone have any info they can give me about Norton West in the North East? I've done a general search but very little comes up, just a couple of posts from members who haven't been active in a while.

Any info on the box, the number of trains passing through, or the rota for shifts etc would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Whether his/her wait was one day or one year makes has no bearing on how long anyone else may have to wait...
An eternity! Haha.
It’s been sat on under consideration for assessment 2 for about 3 months!

If you dont mind me asking where is the grade 7 based ? I applied for a similar post at Edinburgh and I've not heard anything back.
I’ll PM you :) it’s not Edinburgh though!
