Quicker to divert them via Carmyle, Whifflet and Mossend Yard (rejoining the normal route at Mossend North* Junction), I would've thought? Unless there's a driver/route knowledge or route clearance issue preventing the use of Mossend North* Junction in this way that I'm unaware of? Answers on a postcard, please. :)

*: Or is it Mossend East Junction in this context? Lord, I'm rubbish at remembering which is which lol

I think they have diverted that few years ago . I do ' think ' ive seen one go through Mt Florida

Dover and beyond!!

On 16th June 1989,156 502 in full Strathclyde Orange and Black livery was driven under its own power from the Railway Technical Centre all the way to Holland & back via the SNCF train ferry from Dover Western Docks to Dunkerque from where the unit was driven through France and Belgium to the Dutch border at Essen and on to Utrecht with help from SNCF, SNCB and NS train crews.

Photo report of the journey http://www.traintesting.com/Utrecht.htm
Wonder what route it took? I was thinking the south end of the MML for a suggestion, but it depends what route this took towards London.

Sprinter family: 150, 153, 155, 156, 158, 159.
EDIT: I suppose the 950 counts, but more interested in passenger operations or empty stock moves.

Is there any area these units haven't worked in the UK?

I don't want to limit this to individual stations as I'm sure they would be loads. I was thinking more routes or areas. For example, you see them around the Manchester area.

I can only think of electric terminals out of London (apart from Waterloo). Most large stations I think of have seen a sprinter train before.

Anywhere Northern Ireland

Anyone able to help with this? I'm curious to know - that's all.
Class 158 definitely when Wessex ran their Cardiff to Paddington service, so I’d imagine 150s and possibly 153s made it on occasion covering. Even a 143 made it once!

Well, they were converted from 155s at Kilmarnock... But I can't find any evidence they've ever been north of the border in passenger service.

On the 7th of November 1993, the 21:30 Paddington to Cardiff Cent was worked by 150268 and 150263.
I believe there was a derailment blocking the HST’s in their depot and the 150’s worked at least one round trip.
My father and I turned up at Paddington for the 21:30 back home to Swindon and got a bit of a surprise.

If you don't include 158s then Beyond Newcraighall to Tweedbank? Not sure if a 156 has been down there yet.

A photo I took of a Centro 150 at Paddington in 1991. I've no details of the working though;

I've an idea that was deputising for an Inter City train that originated north of Brum. There was at least another occasion in 1991, where one deputiesd for again for an Inter City service, butcthink it may have only gone as far as Reading, but I'll stand corrected on that. Think that the Reading one was 150118.
