Slightly off topic, but GWR are also selling some DID-OXF 175th Anniversary posters. I'd like one as I was there on the day, but at £15 I'm wondering whether it's worth it.

Just saw that myself. Not bad for £15 but haven't got enough space to display it as my wall is covered in labels!

Ha! I have three labels now, which don't cover the wall by themselves but with some other HST stuff (photos from the last day, an antimacassar (shush!), etc., it is too full. The posters were fairly large, having seen one at Didcot.

Just bought 3 Christmas 2015 GWR labels from Swansea to Reading/Swindon/Marylebone for £20 so won't be spending for a while!

I suppose that a GWR one for Marylebone is pretty different so £20 could be more easily justified than my purchases!

Don't really get the point of GWR going to the hassle of making it as it the service only had one intermediate being Bath S
So that intending passengers know where the train stops. Before you point out 'it's obvious' (and I agree), remember that many people hear the announcement on the platform, ask a member of staff, ask a passenger on the platform, ask someone on board and still aren't clear where the train goes!

No worries. Try making an offer as mine was accepted at £6.99 if you are tempted :)
OK. On second thoughts, I'm not going to go for them as they aren't from my area and at the moment I'm "prioritising" (if that's the right word) buying ones from my area and services I went on in the days of HSTs.

All this comments on labels, posters and their costs, do people collect railway posters and ask at stations for unused or no longer required ones?

An engineering works poster for South West Trains was chucked in the bin one Sunday evening and I rescued it a short time later. Although crumpled, it's now rolled up in my seller where I have all my tour posters from bands I've seen over the years.

I would assume that people do collect posters as GWR are selling some of them from the DID-OXF 175th event on the 15th. I don't personally but if it was a special thing (e.g. the Last of the HSTs one from GWR) and it wasn't wanted, I'd think about it. The HST poster is on sale on www.gwrsouvenirs.com, but if there had been a similar one at my local station on the day, I would have enquired. Maybe.

Are those of more interest due to their special event advertising rather than a standard one used for engineering works I wonder.

Not that I wish to sell my poster. Just wondering if others collect this stuff.

Maybe. I think that because engineering works happen so often, those posters get a tad boring for some. But you do you! :)
I collect the tickets from my journeys. I'm probably one of a few who do that!

Xmas 2015 diversion labels

Just seen this thread. I have loads of these that I obtained in the 70's from mainly the WR; early ones simply stated the final destination with no mention of calling points. One of the best I got from Collectors Corner (for 5p) was for the Kings Cross - Fort William sleeper with all calling points. They had some good ones too from the East Coast named expresses of the time like the Hull Pullman.

Bit early for me the 70's. My collection is all GWR from 2015+ but I did get my hands on a reproduction Network Southeast Banbury via the Chiltern line. The only thing is I don't know where it started from. Either Paddington or Marylebone!

It would be a London Paddington to Banbury would the code be NSE(W)51 ??
