Llanberis houses the lower terminus of the rack railway to Snowdon Summit. The only other comparable situation in the British Isles, as far as I know, is Laxey in the Isle of Man, at the foot of the Fell system railway to the summit of Snaefell.

Close to Worle is Worlebury Hill, an iron age hill fortification similar to Old Winchester Hill in Hampshire. The latter is close to the village of Exton.

Jane Seymour, third wife of Henry VIII, was brought up at Shepton Beauchamp. Ann Boleyn, the king's second wife, was distantly related to Jane but was brought up at Hever in Kent.
