It is a shame that Wright went so downhill! We have so many Geminis in Bristol still which will surely go down as one of Bristols classic fleet. There are routes that are fine with the Streetdecks like the 70 and 71 in Bristol they do well!
Today started with all 5 of the remaining Streetdeck on 376, but already 35160 and 35166 have had to be replaced. For vehicles only 4 years old the reliability is appalling.

Agree. Personally I do not think they are bad buses, and as you say are fine for the 70/71, but they just haven't really worked for 376.

They might be better suited to Hengrove work anyway, though as you suggest could also be a stop-gap, for many Wright products do seem to be on their way out.
Time will tell. However if they use the StreetDecks on the 91 & 92 then, in consideration of their performance (or lack thereof -) on the 376 coming out of Wells, I I can't help wondering if any StreetDeck trying to get up Redcatch Road (route of Service 91 I think?) will probably pack in before it gets to the top.

To be fair, they do go up Glyn Vale on the 90

Re-routing the 2 via Henbury is honestly so silly. Why? Especially as the 1, 3/4 and 76 all go the same way. So Wyck Beck Road is now only served by the 3/4?

Yes 32688 is indeed a Wells vehicle.
Incidentally 32284 is no longer on loan to Wells, it got swapped in Bath for 37763 so two X39 B9s on loan now, other being 37757.
Bath recaptured 37763 this morning and replaced it with 32287. Other loans 63076 on 126, 37757 on 376.

32545 has been working in Bath since Sunday, 32636/37 working from Hengrove. More likely transfers than loans?

They are good buses on the climb out of Bath on the Lansdown P&R too. So ok they do change up a gear sometimes at completely the wrong moment, just as the next steep part of the hill kicks in and all momentum is then lost. However, once sorted to the correct gear they are quite powerful pulling away, and from a hill start. I'm no expert at gear ratios, but they could do with staying in the lower gear for a little bit longer to cope with the Bath hills. I get the feeling they seem more suited to routes with multiple stops quite short distances apart like city work, rather than the hills and long stretches on the 376.

Don't buses have the option of a manual gearbox?

How many singles might Wells be left with, once the allocations finally settle down? Five perhaps? Three for 126 and two spare

I see the First fleet changes for June show LH 32253 has 'left the fleet.' Also shown as departed are 33250 33387/88 which I believe were hire/loan buses from somewhere (Dawsons?)

Rather odd seeing as Steve White hasn’t reported any of those. The Dawson’s vehicles were 323** being B7TLs - something looks hooky about that

Cheers Steve

The pitfalls of bustimes being inaccurate are again shown. 69437 is now back showing (rather than masquerading as 37605). I guess it must have been what operated the 126 a few weeks ago as 37605 wouldn’t have!!!

Does anyone know about the gearboxes fitted in B7TL-Geminis? Or B7RLEs, for that matter. I recently rode from Bath to Bristol in one of BH's ex-Glasgow Gems, 32553, and from the sound it was producing in the lower gears with the city confines, it was doing a very good impression of a B7RLE. I'd not noticed the same gear sounds from any of the native B7TLs in Bristol, but was soon to hear the same sound coming from one of HE's ex-Glasgow B7TLs. Any thoughts, please?

So 32253 is still around so apologies for that misinformation. I was quoting what had appeared on the WM Bus Photos website.
33250 LT02ZZN, 33387 KV02URN and 33388 KN52NCD had been in use on Rail Replacement around Bristol. Steve then reported in December these three were part of the fleet of twenty or so buses that were used to fill in gaps that appeared on Bristol City services. Quite why they are reported as 'leaving the fleet' in June I know not.

Thanks Steve. Has something bad happened to 32015?

21st July changes:

8/9 (Bristol): Removal of the morning/evening continuation to Hengrove Depot.
90/91/92: Buses continue to terminate at The Horsefair S3 but trips now start from Penn Street S7.
U2 (Bristol): Most trips now start from the Centre C9, then up Park Street then carrying on as normal, plus a new earlier service to get to Langford by 8am.

6/7 Bristol is showing new tt (But can't see any changes)
75/76 looks like most trips from Hengrove - Cribbs no longer stop for 2 mins but 1 min in town.

Looks like most changes will come in September (Traveline is suggesting TT will change on 1st September, Bristol Post/First is saying the 15th September at least for the 2)

Bath must be short of vehicles after loaning lots to Wells as 32544/5 have both been on X39 today.
