Depends which 'link' you're in... But as a new starter you'll be in a lower link, you'll most likely be doing;

Waterloo- Waterloo (Via Kingston)
Waterloo- Waterloo (Via Hounslow)
Waterloo- Hampton Court
Waterloo- Chessington South
Waterloo- Dorking
Waterloo- Guildford (Via Epsom)
Waterloo- Guildford (Via Chobham)
Waterloo- Guildford (Via Woking)
Waterloo- Woking
Waterloo- Shepperton
Waterloo- Weybridge (Via Addlestone)
Waterloo- Windsor & Eton Riverside
Waterloo- Reading

I'm pretty sure that's it...

Best of luck with the DMI! I'm towards the end of my trainee drivers rules course (gonna be based at Wimbledon), I was a guard at Strawberry Hill for 2 years. One of the best decisions I've ever made was to join the railway. :)

Waterloo to Reading isn’t in the “starter” links

Thankyou, so much. how was your DMI interview? I'm quite nervous about it.

and when you say lower link, what are the lower link routes?

I found the whole DMI process rather relaxed, my interviewers were really nice! Just try and prepare for everything they may ask you, as you already know there is a crazy amount of information to help you on these forums.

Different link drive different routes. As you gain seniority through the years you'll have the opportunity to move though the links. Higher links will sign to Portsmouth, or some links even signing diesels (class 158/159) and drive to Salisbury. Basically longer distance "better" routes as opposed to ALL metro work. :)

can someone shed some light on all the routes taken out of Waterloo please. greatly appreciated. i have my DMI comin up :)

I really would not bother wasting your time on learning things like that. There are no questions along those lines at this stage they are assessing your ability to be a driver not as one.

Yes!!! I’ve done it. Thank you all and best of luck.

Honestly I found the MMI quite intense but one of the most professional interview experiences I’ve had.

Anyone applying for Farnham......Note: future depot moves (inc new drivers applications) to Farnham will be ‘frozen’ until suitable accommodation to facilitate an increase in driver numbers has been subject to further discussion at Drivers Company Council.

I predict a move for drivers into the depot.
