[Please move if this is in the wrong place]

Quick question, from my observations Trainline don't update their realtime feeds as quickly as others. So my question is really, are OTT and RTT more accurate than them? Is there anywhere public facing that uses data Direct from DARWIN so to update directly when Tyrell/TRUST is updated?

National Rail Enquiries, Live Departure Boards etc are fed directly from Darwin, so I would personally say they are more accurate than OTT/RTT because. Anything fed from Tyrell will feed Darwin and hence NRE/LDB.

Tom has spoken about how he would like RTT to be fed from Darwin and I agree it would be great!

But as staff, I always during disruption rely on Staff Live Departure Boards, as they will 9 times out of 10 be more accurate than RTT. Not a dig at RTT by the way, that just the data feeds for you!

For example, I can send a cancellation from Tyrell and seconds later it will appear on CIS/NRE/LDB, it could take ages to appear on RTT.

It’s also handy when manually putting delays on trains for example if you know a train will be +20 for example on its next trip (Driver PNB etc) you can input this into Tyrell but it won’t reflect in RTT.

Okay, cool but I know we use openTrainTimes and traksy as mapping tools as staff, clearly these aren't fed through DARWIN?

I run OpenTrainTimes, and it doesn't currently use Darwin. It will do soon, as I'm actively working on switching over to using Darwin for passenger services and overlaying non-passenger services from TRUST.
