I wonder if the 745 Stansted express will have trolley service come back and the 755s aswell

Definatley not from what I've been told. The 755 power pack would be a problem passing too.I wonder if the 745 Stansted express will have trolley service come back and the 755s aswell

I highly doubt it, it would be completely unnecessary on those services.
Definitely not the 755s- that the trolley on the Norwich-Cambridge was a loss maker is a something of a disappointment to the management that wanted to introduce it in the first place at Anglia. They wanted it to be a success, it wasn't (unlike the train services themselves)the 755s aswell
Surely not, that can't be right? Modern refreshment trolleys such as the ones used on TPE are pretty narrow, narrower than probably 95% of adults in the UK: I can't imagine that any corridor in the public areas of a train that was too narrow for one of those would ever be approved... are people expected to pass the power pack sideways?Definatley not from what I've been told. Have you been through the power pack? It's not designed for trolleys or heavyweights & most definitely not wheelchairs or the oversized contraptions parents push their offspring around in these days. If you are in the wrong side of it you will be there until the next station if you fall into any of those categories.Surely not, that can't be right? Though presumably it is wide enough for an average-sized adult male to walk through without going sideways? In which case the narrow refreshment trolleys in use today would also fit.Have you been through the power pack? New trolleys have been purchased by GA to augment the Bistro bar on the 745 IC fleet between Norwich & Liverpool St.Though presumably it is wide enough for an average-sized adult male to walk through without going sideways? In which case the narrow refreshment trolleys in use today would also fit.
Wheelchairs and pushchairs are another thing altogether, hence current/new-build intra-unit gangways aren't required to be passable by those devices either- yet refreshment trolleys capable of fitting through are in use.
It's all academic anyway, as AGA don't plan to operate trolleys AIUI.
Cheers. I assume they aren't too fat to fit down the corridors then...New trolleys have been purchased by GA to augment the Bistro bar on the 745 IC fleet between Norwich & Liverpool St.
They do hot drinks. The water tank is on his back.Us Brits expect hot drinks. We're not like our friends over the water.
Yeah, me too. It must weigh quite a lot as they carry quite a number of things: hot water for tea, coffee (they've switched from instant to brewed coffee lately), snacks like Mars bars, and depending on the time of day they might even stock some croissants. Or beers.Like to read the risk assessment for that kit, wonder what a full pack weighs?
It is profitable enough for NS to continue offering it. They only serve a couple of key routes though, and only on times when they expect to make some sales.Saw one of these chaps in Holland last week, never saw him sell anything mind.
I wonder if you'd ever get the safety case approved in the first place...Think we can safely dismiss that appearing on the Norwich line anytime soon.
Now I am really confused. Are you refering to 745 or 755 units?Cheers. I assume they aren't too fat to fit down the corridors then...
Back problems are storing up. Don't think that will get passed the first hurdle this side of the North SeaOr instead of pushing a trolley along, they could do something like this instead

"Railcatering" on Dutch trains looks like this, pic by NS.
It would be interesting to know what the revenue is from the buffet, now they only do drinks and snacks?
I only do half the run but if I need a hot drink I would get it at mac s or the Tesco opposite the station Twice as good and half the price !
Bearing in mind the whole run is only 2 hrs I would think the take up is low!
perhaps if they powered up the trolley with a battery to provide a useful mini fridge, people might be more tempted by a COLD drink . A luke warm can of coke is none too appetising.I dont know about Anglia but the buffet/trolley on the Dublin-Belfast train takes in a silly amount and the journey times are similar. Its expensive but the majority of people use it.
