A reported derailment at Chingford is causing havoc on London Overground’s Lea Valley services this morning:

No service between Liverpool Street and Chingford only, due to a train derailment at Chingford depot. Severe delays between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town/Cheshunt. Tickets are accepted on London Underground services via any reasonable route. Good service on all other routes.

An empty train has derailed a couple of coaches , and what was reported as a tricky rerailing job is in hand. Of course it has blocked in a cache of other units.

But it would have helped the Liverpool Street signallers today. Fewer platforms available than normal at Liverpool Street today due to an issue in the centre of throat there.

The origin of my rail obsession. I was about to say it shouldn`t necessarily affect the rest of the Liverpool Street network but then remembered it as a stabling point for Bishops Stortford, Cambridge and possibly other stock but years since I`ve been there.
