I received a phone call in the first instance, then an email to confirm my medical booking.

Hiya Paul I'm currently on the buses I applied in February and got an email to say I'm in a talen pool waiting to do other exams any idea how long the process is thanks in advance
So you’re in a sort of pre-talent pool? What assessments do you need to do? Is it all the psychometrics?

I wish I could give you a firm timescale but it depends on many unknown factors.
My application started in December and my stage 1 assessments were completed already for freightliner so I went straight to stage 2 in May. That was after getting through all the at home PC assessments like the SJT

That is strange I didn’t think you get in the pool unless you have passed all the tests and DMI, my application started December also and I’m currently waiting for my DMI, I hear on the grapevine it could be September but who really knows lol

Yeah that is how it normally works, do all the tests, do a MMI then DMI then get put in the pool. Also I wouldn’t worry about timescales because as I’ve found out these things sometimes take a long time to get sorted!!

Tezza do you realise that this is a GWR thread? If you are with a different TOC then they will operate their own process/recruitment structure. :)

We are pleased to advise your application has met our criteria and will now be placed into our talent pool for Birmingham New Street or Birmingham Snow Hill. The next stage will be the industry tests and once a date has been confirmed we will be in touch.

We have attached our frequently asked questions to assist with any other queries you may have, however if you do need to contact us please email [email protected]

Am I posting in the wrong thread sorry if so :(

No drama pal, just didn’t want you to base any future decision you may make on duff info for you.

Good luck for the rest of the process!
