Hi guys

Shown below is a pair of tickets I was issued with at my local station, I wanted a priv off peak day return from Heathrow Terminal 4 to Hastings, and this was what I was issue with and assured they were correct.
I cant replicate the pricing for this fare on Avantix Traveller and from my previous experience I think my wife who will be using these tickets might have an issue with the barriers when attempting to get the tfl service from T4, have a feeling they've been issued incorrectly and are for LUL use only.
Can anyone replicate this fare and assure me that they will be valid on the tfl service to Paddington and onwards and same for the return leg.
Many ThanksHastings tickets.jpg

That is a “U fare” valid like a point to point ticket from a National Rail station to an Underground or DLR station. I believe this is the fare you should've been sold.

As district says, that's a fare for the underground from Heathrow, and not TfL Rail to Paddington. The fare from Heathrow Rail will cover Heathrow Connect services, but for Priv it's only a small amount extra for a fare (origin Heathrow Term123) that will cover Heathrow Express to Paddington.

Thanks for your replies, I have tried to replicate this fare on avantix traveller but it won't offer any fares, so I don't understand how the ticket office has come up with this ticket, closest fare I can find is the SVR for £11.90, so no clue where the £19.25 is from.
Would the ticket office at Paddington be able to excess this ticket or is this not possible.

It shouldn't be possible to excess the ticket but that doesn't mean it wouldn't happen. I also can't see how the ticket has been sold (or 'created'). I would get it back to the point of sale if you can, and tell them it's wrong.

Try an origin of ‘Zone U1256 London’ in Avantix Traveller.

If you have a cross London transfer the time savings on Heathrow Express versus the UndergrounD are minimal especially given the higher frequency of the UndergrounD trains. It might be simplest to just use the ticket as issued and try the Piccadilly line then change to the District at Barons Court.

If the OP isn't Safeguarded staff (i.e. they joined the industry on or after 1st April 1996) they can't get a discount on an Underground journey, other than for a cross-London transfer. In the (admittedly unlikely) event of them encountering LU Revenue Protection they could potentially have their travel facilities withdrawn.

It's better to return to Aylesbury (or another Chiltern Ticket Office) and ask them to exchange the ticket for the correct one.

As for the fare, the Ticket Issuing System appears to have made it up. Quite where it came to the conclusion that £10.20 more than London Terminals to Hastings is anyone's guess, however!
