Hi,
I am trying to sort out tickets for my wife (no railcard), travelling from Worcester to Bristol on 16th September departing Worcester 17:02 and returning to Kidderminster (first train after 5pm) on the 19th.
I have looked at return from Worcester which seems to be £24.80, however if I change this to Kidderminster - Bristol - Kidderminster it is an eye-watering £58.70 (a bit of a liberty, given KID - Worcester is around £8 return....). I thought this might be because it's sending you via Birmingham, so I specified a via Droitwich to exclude this, but it only lopped about a £1 off.
Am I best just doing Worcester-Bristol-Worcester then single Worcester - KID? (A change of trains is needed at Worcester anyway so this isn't even really split-ticketing...). I'm wondering whether she might fall under Super Off Peak for the return leg and how far south that stretches?
