Will be rather ironic if these new open tops are Euro 3/4 considering the Lothian article yesterday about their environmentally friend tour fleet.

Looking back now this is quite evidently a publicity stunt they've pulled prior to the ExLondon Gemini's arriving since they're not Euro 6...

They may be retrofitted to euro 6 before service. At the same time, they'll also run for a different company, not EBT.

It doesn't really matter if they'll on paper run for a different company. I can't see Lothian retrofitting them, there's not enough time as they'll probably want them on the road for the Fringe Festival.

In total today the 24 had 5 singles and and 2 deckers and overall today, the 36 had 9 singles and 2 deckers. Not a lot IMO. However I do wonder what is up with HY13BUS as her last trip out was 4th July.

Again? Did she not already get done not that long ago?
Correct, me thinks it’s probs just getting large scale maintenance. All 7900 hybrids except for around 5 at Longstone are now refurbished or are in the process. In terms of Central I think it’s just 1 and 6 left to complete which I think are away atmo (could be wrong though). Not been looking in detail as had no time due to work commitments. Either way should all be completed around September time

What work is being carried out during the refurbishment?

For contactless on the 43 you need to state where you’re going (as opposed to regular LCB where you state the ticket and LB where you won’t say anything).

So rather amusingly if you travel down Queensferry road on the 41, 43 or 113 and use contactless it would be different every time!

Reason you need to state your destination is so your charged the correct fare for the journey because the 43s run 2 fare zones

Indeed. As is the case for cash purchases, it will still be this case, if anything it will be more pertinent as people wont be charged the correct fair and then the correct cheapest option.

Appreciated use of IT there, buses dont have a gender. Always confuses me as to why people give them a gender.

I always tell the driver where I'm going even on Lothian 'City' routes, then allow them to say what the fare should be. For one thing they can tell you if you've got on the wrong bus, part route, or maybe if it has been diverted away from where you want to go. But it just seems more polite in general rather than gormlessly presenting a pile of coins.

I work at LCB and it’s amazing how many Edinburgh natives just get on and say single please and I have to go “single to where?”

Do you happen to know if contactless on the main fleet is still on track for tomorrow?

I put "she" in error. I was writing an email at the same time and wrote half my email in the message box before deleting and restarting. Multitasking for the win!

Although perhaps veering off topic, the habit of calling motor vehicles "she" traces back to ships/boats which historically are given female names. Tbh i have no issue with it and often do myself, some may brand it sexist, i don't really think it is.

How long do we have the Evora on loan for? It's still not showing up on tracker but was given fleet no 299. 299 does not show up but 5005 shows up in the equator.
