When buying a ticket from London to Bedford, a ticket from Euston (London Terminals) to Bedford (purchased from London Northwestern) is more expensive than a ticket from St Pancras to Bedford (purchased from Thameslink or East Midlands trains). Both are marked as any permitted and so should be valid via Bletchley also. My question is, would the ticket from St Pancras to Bedford also be marked as London Terminals to Bedford? Because if so that would mean the same ticket is costing a different amount when purchased from different train companies.

Tickets from London to Bedford should be issued as 'London Thameslink' to 'Bedford Stations' (probably printed as Bedford or Bedford St Johns nowadays).

It is valid from Elephant & Castle, London Bridge, Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon and St Pancras to Bedford via the Midland Mainline as well as from Euston to Bedford via Bletchley.

Can you give details of the tickets in question? BRFares indicates that the fares should be the same regardless of whether they are issued with an origin of London Terminals or London Thameslink.

Were you looking at the Euston machines at a weekend perchance? LNWR TVMs don't sell the cheaper (weekend only) Super Off Peak fares (as opposed to the more expensive weekday Super Off Peak fare, simple right?!).

Yes it was the Euston machines but even on the Trainline, Euston to Bedford and st Pancras to Bedford gives 2 different fares. Both off peak day returns via any permitted.

Also are the super off peak valid still valid from Euston to Bedford via Bletchley on weekends?

They are both offering a fare from Zone U12 London, with a journey by underground from Euston to Kings Cross St Pancras and train from St Pancras to Bedford. You might see the same fares from Euston as St Pancras if for the journey option from Euston you selected 'via Bletchley' as your journey requirement - I have no idea if this as an option on Trainline though (it certainly won't be on a TVM).

I suggest the OP to check the fares on London Northwestern / Thameslink or other train operators' page

The route is "Any Permitted" so yes.

However some machines do not sell Super Off Peak fares of ticket type CBA/CBB.

Indeed there was a period of many months when the EMT machines overcharged people at St Pancras (BTP were called by EMT staff when I pointed this out to passengers that the fare was cheaper from the Thameslink machines, but BTP told me I was free to do so, much to the displeasure of the EMT staff! The overcharge was about £10 to Bedford, so the EMT machines raked in a lot of extra cash from the overcharge)

Just realised the Trainline says the ticket from St Pancras (London thameslink) is only valid from thameslink stations. So I think there are no super off peak London terminals to Bedford tickets.

Even though they’re 2 different prices? Off peak for London Thameslink to Bedford is £16.25. Off peak for London Terminals to Bedford is £19.75.
