3 car services on the Bolton to Clitheroe line and the demise of the 153

A number of the services on the Bolton to Clitheroe line are currently made up of a single Class 153 plus a 14x/150/156 giving a grand total of 3 carriages. When it's short formed with the 153 missing it either misses stops or it's crammed beyond belief.

With the roll-out of the 195/331 and the impending demise the 153(non-compliant PRM), just what are these services going to be made up of?

Will it revert back to 2 car service or up to a 4 car service (Yipee), or are there 3 car DMU units that can be cascaded from elsewhere?

Does anybody have any insight on this matter?

The Class 195s are a mix of 2 and 3 car units.
From what I've read 195's won't get near this service. The units replaced by the 331,195 will be cascaded to other services or scrapped if they are 14x units

Isn't there a plan to reform some of the 2 car 150s into 3 cars?

Either way, we should be counting the length of the train, not the number of carriages. A 156 is only 8m shorter than a 142+153, and has 2 fewer cabs to boot.
