So, 91108 was withdrawn from traffic yesterday.

Then this happens...

LNER Service Delivery Update said:
Current Fleet Status:
We have:-
21 MK4 sets (for 22 diagrams). No Hot Spare BN12 requires a loco at Bounds Green XX

Oh the irony!

Can you ring the leasing company up and ask to keep it for another week? Or is it just hard luck?

This has probably been covered many times but as a semi-regular user of the east coast line why exactly are they being replaced? As a user of trains across the UK they seemed absolutely fine every time I was on one. Better than 90% of stock. Were they clapped out mechanically? I get that HSTs were removed as diesel and 10 years older but can't work out why the replacement program now for Class 91 and Mk4 carriages? They seemed to have another decade in them as a passenger.

Increase capacity (no wasted power car or DVT) per train as paths are limited.
Improve performance (better accleration) so stops are easier to justify.
Improve reliability as the 91s are in bad shape

"Yes sir, I'm sure we can work something out, there will be the usual short term loan excess however, and we'd need to take your credit card details now in order to secure use of this valuable asset........"

Will they need the insurance excessadd on for OHLE protection? Surely there's a premium for newark-retford. Might want to protect the NCD....

Thats the thing thou, you can see a little bit of the ECML when the train enters/leaves the London Tunnel out of St Pancras
But not enough to see a Class 91 on Mk4s!!8-)

Just take 10 minutes out and have a look in Kings Cross before it's too late.

"Excellent sir, that's the short term loan, credit card excess payment, Newark-Retford insurance premium, NCD protection payment and the (non) optional repaint into Leasing Co. colours. That'll be [insert large amount here]. What do you mean you can buy a dozen Azuma's for that? What about the seats sir, think about the seats".

Enough now, back to the sunshine!

So does this mean 91108 is running light engine? Sorry for being stupid!
