Spotted in Heaton yard as I approached Newcastle this afternoon.
It's got no livery and was in plain silver/ grey.
Wikipedia suggests to me that it may be the new trains TPE will be using on their new route to Edinburgh from Newcastle.
Is that the case with this unit?

As per all 802/2's, they will indeed be working for TPE, as their "Nova 1" fleet, and yes, they will be working both Newcastle routes (Liverpool-Edinburgh, and Manchester Airport-Newcastle).

If it has a black nose rather than a yellow nose it'll be a TPE unit.

I've seen that in their press releases about the new route.
I can't actually remember if it did have a black nose, if anything, as I said in my post, it was all silver/ grey
