I have been invited for a 90 minute interview for a welding a grinding operative. I’m just wondering if anyone has any idea what kind of questions they would be asking in the interview. Any help would really be appreciated

Network Rail's Safety Vision, Lifesaving Rules and read up as much as possible on the role you have applied for. There's loads of information in these forums.

Thank you! Any links to more info on here about the role I’ve had a look and can’t seem to find any!

Can you already weld? As well as the above I'd expect a fair few questions about how you weld A to B etc etc.

The railway predominantly uses thermit welding, which, as far as I know, is uncommon elsewhere. There might be some transferable skills, but I'd be surprised if they went too in depth on it.

That’s true for track welding but I guess they use regular welding elsewhere on the network? Or is a welding and grinding operative specifically for track work?
