No that’s you assuming there are LB buses on LCB routes because of vehicle troubles

Give it a rest, you've been told that LB drivers are covering for shortages on LCB routes meaning they need to use vehicles with bandit screens as LB drivers won't use buses without them. It's not hard.

I love when a random new duplicate account appears so someone who is wrong can argue their point.

Lothian drivers have been on loan to LCB (i know one who has!), the reason LB vehicles sometimes appear on the LCB network is because some of their contract conditions state they only drive vehicles fitted with bandit screens. As the LCB fleet are not fitted with screens a LB vehicle is used instead. Likewise when a LB driver does LCB work, obviously this doesn't apply the other way round.

I can assure you i am nothing to do with the veg above posting speculation. Merely sent a link to this bs and commented.
It's not speculation, it's fact. As i say i know an LB driver who's been on LCB work recently so i can assure you it's not speculation.

I have never heard so much crap in my life. No Lothian drivers are covering Lothian Country routes, and never have. However some Country drivers are currently helping out at Bus Tours and occasionally East Coast. These are the facts!
Yeah and a no 2 off them

While i'm not doubting that there has been an increase. The quote " theres not a week gone by when the passenger numbers havent increased, across all LC routes." just doesn't add up with the reality. Under such logic the X27/X28 should be running full and in dire need of a frequency increase!

They could've at least made it not so obvious!

*** Separate post ***

On another note, how are GreenArrow service doing. Have they picked up yet or are they equally as dead as the 600?

I travelled on a GreenArrow from Lithgy to Edinburgh last month and the main thing I noticed was at Lithgy, several people got on, asked the driver for Princes Street or Edinburgh Bus Station. The driver told them the service didn't serve those places and those people got off and walked to the 38 behind. Hopefully LB/LCB realise there missing out on this custom and extend the route. A novel idea would be to terminate the services from North Berwick, Dunbar etc etc at St. Andrew Square along with the EX services(and other LCB routes) and creating a sort of mini interchange point for services that Terminate within the City but not inside the stupidly small Bus Station.

Whilst i agree with what you are saying, the EX services are to link to the financial sector at the west end. However anyone wishing to travel further, such as north berwick or dunbar would be suited to the £9 network ticket, which as it says, covers the whole Lothian network including trams. Plus its only a short walk from the exchange to the stop on Lothian road that the EC buses serve.

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm sure those who work in the financial sector would rather take their Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz or 4x4 (delete as appropriate) out of their oversized driveway.

Makes sense, there is potential for the EX services to work. As stated before replacing the EX1 with a service to Blackburn/Whitburn and extending the EX2 to Falkirk and/or Bo'Ness. Of course through Edinburgh City Centre too as the current terminal point doesn't make any sense and is likely part of what puts so many people off using them for now. No point catering for a minority market if you don't cater for the majority too.

If i lived in Linlithgow i probably would consider using the EX2 if it covered Princes Street as First's 38 is pretty appalling right now, especially with the tatty 12 year old Eclipse's mixed in with unsuitable Streetlite's.

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm sure those who work in the financial sector would rather take their Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz or 4x4 (delete as appropriate) out of their oversized driveway.
Does said market exist in Linlithgow or Bathgate!..

Have you tried to park in that area recently? I would say it's borderline impossible somtimes.

The Park & Ride then tram would be more attractive to be fair, especially given the tram is on a much higher frequency so there's no worrying about making it for the half hourly bus on time.

To be fair if there is 2 more passengers on a Journey that is a 100% increase...

When I used the Linlithgow Express it actually picked up a decent number of people on the way to Edinburgh. But then again, we all know you have a wee chip on your shoulder regarding LCB....

Has there ?? I would love to meet them you talk a load of rubbish
@Jordan Adam is replying to the post below which completely contradicts itself.
Lcb are that short off drivers that some from lcb are at east coast and Lothian to help out
If LCB are so short of drivers why are the available drivers covering at ECB and Lothian?
Understand?

To be fair the service has improved but a good number of journerys are just not doing the business.

Other way round Jordan, LCB are doing fine for staff, as they have drivers on loan to ECB as well as several seconded to EBT. With regard to Lothian vehicles in West Lothian, it is just to make up the numbers, Lothian drivers don't do LCB.

In the other Lothian thread at https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/lothian-buses-and-ecb-discussion.151391/ , a few days ago I wrote "This thread is increasingly becoming one where, every week, several members are using it to have personal attacks and make snide comments against each other. If this continues, appropriate action will be taken. Please use the forum nicely."

That was not an invitation to transfer the snide comments and bickering to this thread.

Having worked (very!) briefly in the financial sector in Edinburgh, I can assure you that not everyone who works there is taking home telephone number salaries. The contact centre roles were better paid than most similar customer service jobs in other sectors, but it most certainly was not enough for me to be able to afford a car, let alone on of Germany's finest!
