Hopefully not going too much off topic here but is XC still going to be hiring in two LNER HST sets over the August bank holiday weekend?

Does this mean XC will be running 9-car HSTs? Where will they be running them?

A quick glance at RTT with Variations to the ECS paths and this is what I have found for the bank holiday weekend. The bold indicates not a normal HST diagram.

The 1425 from Plymouth appears to be going no further than Birmingham tomorrow?

Is anyone able to confirm the diagrams tomorrow? @221129 if you get any information it would be greatly appreciated :)

This might sound funny but the 06:45 from York to Plymouth is a 7-coach HST instead of an 8-coach Voyager. One coach less normally isn't great - actually in this case it is (more capacity than an 88-coach Voyager incase people aren't aware).

What's interesting is how come XC can spare an HST instead of the booked Voyager but not diagram the 06:45 and I guess its 13:25 from Plymouth to Edinburgh regularly on Mondays as well as Thursdays (13:25 being Thursdays)?

This is happening due to overtime ban yesterday. There were no hsts in services as a result. Diagrams should be back to normal after today.

Notice on XC's website atm stating that the RMT are holding more strikes on the 25th August so I assume that XC won't be running any HSTs on that day and it possibly means that they are not going to hire in the 2 LNER HSTs...??

Correct. If strike goes ahead no hsts will operate

Extremely unlikely to have any HSTs out let alone hire ins. Unless the RMT can get XC to agree a deal... Again there are no strikes.

No strikes just not working overtime/rest days. Cross Country choose not to have Sunday within the working week.

I have heard that they are now planning to hire the 2 sets in on the Saturday only but I am still not 100% sure if this is confirmed...

How you figure the services from them codes?
Can be internal or external sources. External sources can be websites such as Real Time Trains or Open Train Times but these can sometimes scramble the codes (normally freight trains). The link below shows all cross country services for Plymouth on Saturday which shows the code next to the relevant services and clicking on the code will show the stations and passing places for said services.

Can anyone confirm the days that the 1V54 0632 Dundee to Plymouth runs at all and the days on which an HST is allocated?
I think the timetable shows it running Monday - Friday but the HST diagrams list for Cross Country says that it is an HST on Monday and Friday, with no mention on other days. Is this correct?

1V54 runs every day. It is booked a HST Monday and Friday only.
