LRV metrolink driver assessment day, any advice out there?

Hi all,
I've got a LRV interview/assessment day coming soon and would like to know if anyone has any advice please regarding tests, etc?

If they still do the practical LRV test, where you climb into, and under instruction drive a tram at low speed around the depot, do exactly as told, take your time, go slowly and.... don't jump the gun - they are looking for you to not do anything until specifically told - even when it's obvious - including picking the keys up.

Thanks for that, do you know anything about the shapes test? When I look it up on google, all I find is the dots, I’d love to see examples.

Someone from metrolink told me that they've changed the test from assessment day starting this month. No simulator
Now the assessments are taking place at Hilton - deansgate
Anyone been on the last week assessment day?

I just hope I can get through it, I’ve been practicing dials and dots, though I’m sure there will be lots of parts of the assessment day that can catch me out!

Dials and dots? I don't know the dots test

I’m not sure if they even do them, best to google it, much better than me describing it.

Tommy, when I had my assessment day we had to do the SCAAT test instead of the dots. If you Google SCAAT test and click on the images link, you can find a picture of the same shapes they use (doesn't seem to be as popular as the dots/letters tests so images are limited).

I will add though that this was over 18 months ago so things might have changed.
