My thanks.

A couple of hours in, I've made so bold as to adjust the clue: making it perhaps microscopically more faithful to railway history.

Far from the scene, ill-wisher invokes curse of alopecia in Bath direction out of Templecombe -- ringing changes on "bald bonces, sully N. S&DR !"

That one didn't last long - John is right of course.

River CAM, Bradford's BUS and the German (and Scottish?) word LANG.

I'm a dimwit about much of the modern railway scene -- have no idea what a category E or F station might be. (Obviously, explaining or not, is up to you -- if it would totally give the show away, you won't explain; fair enough !)

You're clearly not a 'station connection' game follower, Calthrop - the categories feature quite a bit there ( which is how I first heard of them about three weeks ago). I can't cut and paste links on my kindle, but googling United Kingdom railway station categories will show you a Wikipedia page explaining the whole shebang and enriching your life immeasurably. If, understandably, you can't be bothered, E and F are very small stations.

Ah, thanks. Right -- so the covering-oneself-with-sugar place will not feature in the chap's book called Tiny Stations !

Ta. Try this:

Sweep up!

"Combining posting and drinking", which one understands can be regretted; but if we weren't limited to the UK, I'd suggest Weesp in the Netherlands -- near Amsterdam, has indeed a station bearing the community's name.
