Hot axle box detector? It activated the HABD and needs a skate fitted to move it.
Thats the one.Hot axle box detector?
It's to do with the Acton Grange blockade. Either to reduce electrical draw on the diversionary route, or because the diversionary route that is used is not electrified.I have noticed the 325s being dragged by 90s? Why is this?

The reason I heard is that 325s aren't cleared to work the Chat Moss route under their own power, so they had to be dragged.I suspect the former; the 90s won't be much use if it's the latter...?
Might be a case of 'multiple pantographs', given that a rake of 3 Class 325s has 3 pantographs. 2x 350s (i.e. 2 pans) I believe is the maximum for the route.I'm surprised that 325s aren't cleared given Pendolinos and Class 92s are. Both power hungry trains.
That's it. My originaly post was worded awfully, but that's what I meant.Might be a case of 'multiple pantographs', given that a rake of 3 Class 325s has 3 pantographs. 2x 350s (i.e. 2 pans) I believe is the maximum for the route.
So I did see it in the early hours of Thursday, that's put my mind at rest!!!!I've just been looking for some evidence on RTT and found this on Wednesday evening (31/7):

It implies that it stopped near Nuneaton at around 18:15 and spent nearly 3 hours in the vicinity before continuing.
Perhaps they uncoupled one set at Nuneaton and continued with the rest. Or maybe they sent a replacement unit from Willesden.
They mess with certain track circuits as well.Might be a case of 'multiple pantographs', given that a rake of 3 Class 325s has 3 pantographs. 2x 350s (i.e. 2 pans) I believe is the maximum for the route.
What's the speed limit on skates?
What's the speed limit on skates?
I seem to recall 15mph and 5mph through points, it could be different now of course but I don't see why it should
I'd expected an overnight move up to Crewe as well, but it turns out that it's still there at Stafford this morning.I guess 001 should make it to Crewe tonight

Do you have 12 car 319 sets in operation on Northern?
