Hi all!

I'm quite into tycoon type games and like to build large empires with a slight degree of realism.
Wondered if anyone here has also had experience with the Train Fever/Transport Fever games and is looking forward to Transport Fever 2?

I believe they are bringing in Modular Stations, One Way Roads, Pollution, Improved Map Editing/Generation, more vehicles and some performance optimisations as well as the potential for mods/expansions in the future!

Also I thought I'd leave a poll asking everyone of what Transport games (I know of) they play.

I love these games too - none as much as the original RR Tycoon on the Amiga, my Zagreb to Trieste railway that ended up expanding all across Europe was my pride and joy for a while.

Of the modern games, I still enjoy the original Cities in Motion best - I prefer the isometric style graphics to the true 3D of the later games, and also the simplicity of it - I feel a lot of the later games try to include too much detail and realism with the result of it destroying the gameplay a little. An example of this is the introduction of bus depots to Cities in Motion 2 - yes, it's realistic that you should have a building to store your buses in, but it just adds a bit too much complexity and takes some of the fun away for me.

I've not tried the most modern ones yet - I usually stay a bit behind and wait for the prices to fall a bit.

Transport fever is pretty cheap these days and has an absolutely massive modding community! UK trains of almost every veriaty are available on the Steam Workshop, 150's, 156's, HSTs, 313's and many more!

Usually ends up on sale for about £5 on the steam store.

I find the original Cities in Motion more challenging in a way! Can be difficult to keep up with capacity and you definitely have to build your routes around the city. Depots being part of the line in the 2nd version can be a little bit tricky and restrictive at times.

Transport Fever is a beautiful little game, miles better than Train Fever (which had so many problems but seemed to be a great springboard)

Transport Fever 2 I'm really looking forward to.

Same! Modular stations, one way roads and pollution is going to offer a step change in gameplay!
