Haven't seen a Pacer at Liverpool Lime Street for a while.

Just seeing more, rancid, not fit for purpose 150's instead!

Yesterday 030 was easily visible from the tram heading past Newton Heath if its stayed where it is.

Many thanks. I went past there this afternoon and saw it clearly. Now if only I could find 142021!

142007 spent today at the seaside on the Morecambe to Lancaster shuttles and even a trip to Heysham in the afternoon. Perhaps looking for somewhere to retire to with 142005.

That is a good point. I have just remembered that there is an old MK2 railway carriage on St. Annes seafront that is now a cafe. Similar ideas for retired pacers have recently been suggested!

@Wakefield Westgate this morning:

142020
142046
142093

Thought 046 was earmarked for withdrawal?

142084 regrettably on the 0824 DND- MBR this morning. Pacers continue to infest Teesside despite the cascaded Sprinters at Heaton

Pacer 84 still out heading east at MBR but joy-of-joys a 158 on the 1843 to Darlo. Quiet engines, a table to myself (although it smells funny) and seats lined up with the windows. Pinch me, I must be dreaming.

The 142s are already riddled with rust. Not sure if the aluminium bodies of the 144 remove. Noone mentioned the aluminium bodies from the 313 etc currently going for scrap.

The 144s have identical BREL underframes to 142s, so should be removable. I have read somewhere on another thread that at one stage, BR was considering having them re-bodied to lengthen their lives. A new Pacer Class, the 145 could have been created for re-bodied 142s and 144s, with shiny new bodies from Alexander Dennis or Wrights!

I have also read a suggestion that the chassis from Class 14x could be used as self propelled wagons.

I can't see that happening. I did wonder if any might go to NR and be converted into track recording or rail-head treatment units, to take some of the workload of 950001.

Then again one of the 141s was turned into a weedkilling unit but didn't last too long in that role.

142030+1501x8 on 11:50 Wigan NW - Alderley Edge

142078 on 11:58 Wigan Wallgate - Kirkby shuttle

About 60% of the time, the Wigan Wallgate - Kirkby shuttle has been a 150 and 40% of the time a 142. A 156 was on it however last Monday. I am surprised that 142078 was on it today following withdrawal of a number of 142s at the weekend. Did anyone notice what unit(s) was/were forming the 09:15 Kirkby to Manchester Vic this morning?

Has 142063 been out again in the north east today? I'm really hoping to find it tomorrow somewhere so would be good to know where it has been.

There’s a 142 on Leeds to Chester today apparently according to the MCV spotters.

Not pleased to see Pacer 23 again on the 1743 from MBR. However, vvery pleased indeed to see the train held while BTP removed a passenger (offence unknown).
